"Blowing up" is few and far between.

Someone just had an issue when they vaped a mod while it was charging. Another had a battery blow while loose in their pocket. There are things to do to increase safety. Some just don't think to learn and others are just lazy.

Read, search the forums, and ask questions. Learn how to do things the safe way with the hardware that you have. Safety keeps us...safe.

Hi Sean and welcome to the forum!

While nothing in life is 100% safe, the iStick 50 is as safe as they can make it. It has loads of safety features built in.

It will even shut itself off if it gets over 70 degrees F.

Not sure what the owners in Florida are going to do with theirs to keep vaping this summer

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

Hey guys im a complete newb to vaping enyways my Istick 50w + mini Protank 3 should be here tomorrow and I've been reading up alot of vapours blowing up. I'm probably being stupid but I can't help thinking it's not safe :/

Your iStick is perfectly safe--just a bit of overkill for your ProTank 3.

PT 3 is a dual-coil atomizer and requires no more than 8-11 watts or so, depending on your preference. When in doubt, start low and adjust your wattage (or voltage) up only when necessary. I vape my DC kanger tanks at 4.2-4.4v with very good results. I also suggest you get an airflow control valve for your tank--it will perform better.

Both mini valves will work with your PT3 mini.

Kanger Air Flow control Valve Base Replacements

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Yes, overkill, but at 8-10W or so, he's gonna get *killer* battery life! :D It is a great device though, and perfectly safe. It also gives you plenty of room to grow.

Welcome, and good luck!

You are very safe other than you will only be able to run it as low as it will go. Kind of a waste putting a Protank 3 on a 50 watt Istick.

If you're still in the mouth-to-lung mode, the Nautilus mini is a great upgrade. It will take a bit more power than the mini protank 3 (I run mine up to 13 watts), and it produces a lot more vapor and flavor than the protank. It will also use a bit more juice, but it's worth it. When/if you're ready to move up to direct lung hits, the Atlantis or the Kanger Subtank mini are good steps up. The Subtank comes with an RBA deck so you can experiment with building your own coils. If you're not into that, it can use prebuilt coils like the protank 3 or the nautilus.
