Is the PMTA as scary as many think it is?

Just an FYI.

Biden is going to present California Attorney General Xavier Becerra as his choice for the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Biden Picks California Attorney General Xavier Becerra For Top Health Post

Becerra Isn't exactly a Friend to e-Cigarette Users. Or the e-Cigarette Market in General. And I'm sure the fine folks at juul weren't thrilled when they heard who Biden picked.
My limited research shows Becerra's main target was Juul and the supposed targetting of the teenage market.

My question is is he an anti tobacco fanatic {ie. tobacco nazi}? Or, is it just age and the usual 'let the buyer be ware' when it comes to tobacco - another words the usual, usual stuff???

Four of my favorite premix flavors are gone due to that company trying to whittle down what they could afford to put through the PMTA. Not sure about the whole industry, but that's a "right now" effect to me based on the regulation.

re: Becerra, in my time as a constituent in that state under him, and of his predecessor's reign, curtailed a great many choices I wanted to make as an adult. They were most often lost when governing to the lowest common denominator of that state. I don't see why my choice to use e-cigarettes will be respected.

The approach that government is there to protect our children and us from ourselves... and that many demand that the government "do something" in the face of a perceived evil... Often that something is at the cost of more personal freedoms. For the perceived greater good of society.

That always struck me as a relatively pessimistic and distrustful approach to the citizenry, and against the unique nature of the US to the rest of the world.

Whatever the opinion, those four are my lost (vaping) choices so far.

As a hobby I study organized crime - Most of today's modern version of 'organized crime' owes its origin and financing to two major campaigns of righteous do-gooders, The Prohibitionists whose war on alcohol brought you Prohibition, bootleggers, Al Capone and countless others - And the war on drugs which brought you the super powergful drug cartels and notables such as Mexico's' El Chapo now residing in a US Federal Prison - But does he really belong there??? Or is it the 'control freak politicians' such as the famous super rich Mickey Blumborg [SIC} who realy should be locked up in prison - As it is their 'control freak' mentality that caused and in fact finances ALL of what is called 'Organized Crime' ???

They already did alcohol and failed, continue to fail wiith the war on drugs with marijuana now legal in many places - So what's left for them??? Right, and so they continue to war on a substance that is still legal - Tobacco!!! And you should have known that when vaping, a safer way to use tobacco, becaime popular they were going to focus their evil control freak minds to do all they could to over control or even outlaw it altogether. - Like India a nation that has very high death rates from lit cigarette smoking -
So what do they do?? - They outlaw vaping !!!

I sort of have this built in mistrust of any elected official in CA.

I am also left wondering.... Why do people like the good people of CA DO THIS to themselves?

I mean, people are exiting CA like rats leaving a sinking ship. I'm serious, there are going to need to be little pockets of CA towns (like China towns) in each state. It's a shame they bring their beliefs and ideology with them.

I can't see this turning out in any way positively but it's more or less what I expect out of Biden.

I don't think you can blame CA on Biden, he's from Delaware.

But it does seem ironic in a state that has seen whole towns destroyed from forest fires - they still are deterined to control smoking and now vaping.

Sure some of the people from CA will bring the 'control freak' mind with them - Others will change and be happy to have left 'The People's Republic of California' !!!

I know where Biden is from. The state every insurance company in the US (almost) lists its corporate headquarters (ok, I exaggerate slightly) but really, like that is what it is a giant dumping ground for crime. I used to regularly drive through Delaware going from Maryland to Swarthmore PA because that is what my college drive required so I was ALWAYS going through Delaware, and it is one nasty little state. It offers nothing but some very polluted body of water and a bunch of crook headquarters.

I was not implying Biden came from CA, but I am implying they are both major Democrat "headquarters." Well, perhaps in Biden's case that is too generous, so "Quarters."

I am going to agree there are folks who left CA and are happy to have done so. Man... that state got bailed out so many times when they would threaten to secede I'd be like, "LET THEM... Accept refugees who proved they were not a part of THAT."

CA is like...mostly pretty to look at and a fun place to visit but you wouldn't want.. Yeah, it is like China.

LOL Delaware has a lot less going for it than CA, that is for CERTAIN.

I better stop.
