Welcome to ECF.

It's a different experience for everyone. Some people drop analogs instantly some go for months before they drop analogs. Some never drop analogs just cut back drastically.

Ultimately the choice to quit or cut back analogs is all yours. There is plenty of support to be had should you need it.

As long as you have the right nic strength, a flavor you like, and a charged battery with you AT ALL TIMES, it is a piece of cake. I haven't picked up a stinky since my first vape. Since I started vaping at 24mg nic strength, I have successfully reduced it to 15mg strength in 4 short months. These forums will answer any question you have. Good luck and welcome to ECF!

I've only been vaping for a couple of weeks so I am NO expert. But what XfooYen says is true for me. I stopped the stinkys and haven't looked back since Dec. 31. I have NO desire to go back with vaping. It's totally satisfying. But I vap 24mg and often. I make sure I don't run out. Just ordered some 12 and 18 mg juice to use now and then so I can cut back on the nic.

I just bought two cartons of smokes that I will need to finish off. The very next day I became interested in vaping, talk about timing. That's money I could have spent on juice.
True with the money but you don't need to finish them off. I have my last pack bought in a draw.

EDIT: Did I say welcome and good luck!!!!

Still waiting on my stuff to arrive and anticipating the change. I don't do well with change.

I found the first 2 days the hardest, but once I started, I never went back. It was the coffee first thing in the morning that I had a hard time with. I still like to vape a tobacco flavoured juice in the morning and switch to a fruit juice in the afternoon. The key is not to be too hard on yourself. It's not how much you are smoking- it's how much you are not smoking when you are vaping. Good luck!

From receiving my first kit it was 4 days until I stopped smoking. I still had 5 packs left. I just gave them away. About once a week I would take a couple drags off my wifes analog and it was horrible. I haven't had that weekly drag since before Christmas. My wife, who started vaping shortly after me is down to 3-4 a day some days. At home she doesn't smoke. She smokes at work. So for me, it was almost a complete transition and for her it has been a decline in analogs. I believe everybody's experience is different. Good luck and enjoy.

I quit the same day I got my stuff, about 4:30 pm and haven't had a cig since, had a full pack too. It still sits there unwrapped. My son took a few weeks and I think he's given up smoking completely. A friend took a week to finish a pack and she's done too.

Everybody is different. I had cravings but was able to work through them. The best was not turning into a psychobeeyotch like when I went cold turkey for that whole 48 hours. Smoking turned out to be cheaper than therapy for everyone. :)

At 2 pad, you may need higher than 18 mg. Give it a try, but don't stock up too much initially.

The ability to take a casual approach to giving up the cigs is why vaping has worked for me. That whole all-or-nothing approach for all other quit methods did me in. You've got some time while you wait for equipment and finish off those cartons. Think about your personality and why you have failed in the past. (Assuming you have tried to quit before. Not many of us haven't.) Figure out what you think will work best for you. Complete switch right away. Structured plan to taper off the smokes and replace with vaping. Vape when you can, smoke when you must. Any of these are perfectly acceptable, as long as it works FOR YOU!!! Ain't vaping grand? :D

Yeah, I can relate. I tried the cold turkey thing once about 15 years ago. Poor hubby, within 24 hours he was begging me to go buy something...anything with nic! It was not pretty.

I've found it easy so far, though I am truly transitioning: easing off one onto the other. Got my kit on Friday afternoon so I'm right at 4 days in. I'm on my 2nd analog of the day, and it's FOUL. I lit it up right after a nice vape so I could truly taste just how foul it is in comparison. I'm fairly confident I can make tomorrow my first full cig free day.

I was a PAD ultra light smoker up until Friday. I'm currently on 18mg juice and have gone through about 1ml a day while transitioning (plus an average of 3 analogs a day). No nic fits or other withdrawals yet. In fact, the only headaches I've gotten are after the analogs: they no longer sit well. I have an assortment of 14mg and 8mg incoming so I'll be ready to step my nic level down when the time comes.

I hope it's smooth sailing for you, too!

Hi Chuck2. Keep in mind you're on a journey to a healthier lifestyle. Don't feel like you need to meet or exceed anybody elses experiences. If you quit analogs immediately that's great and if you cut back on analogs that's great too. Remember it's a journey not a race and you'll know when or if it's the proper time for you to totally quit smoking. Either way you'll be healthier than smoking only so enjoy the journey and give yourself credit for being healthier. Welcome and happy vaping!

That is what i had. I was not going to let go of the regular untill I got my new perchase up and working ( a pair of eGos). I can say that after a month I am still not through that first carton which might of lasted me 5 days. It was EFFORTLESS! I so prefer the vape now. I Only still smoke the regulars in the car when I drive.

Once over, I smoked 38 cig a day and on the first day I went down to 18. The next day i was in the single digets..

You don't NEED to finish off those killers. You NEED to stop smoking. Sell 'em to a smoker who wants them.

I'm smoking two PAD right now. I will be starting with about 18 and hope to work it down from there.

18mg probably won't curb your appetite if you're a 2PAD smoker. I would recommend 24 or even 36 (harder to find). Only you will be able to judge. Buy both 18 and 24 to start to make sure you don't get stuck with something too weak. Best of luck to you.
