I just received the xtar vp1 I ordered. I love the display that shows the battery condition real time. I was having a hard time deciding whether to get vp1 or nitecore, but I read somewhere on ecf that our battery guru Baditude here recommends vp1 so I went with it. Oh and vp2 was recalled btw. So far so good!

i really like my VP1. its outstanding. i even use it to check batt voltage instead of the multimeter. (they oughta make a multimeter with spring loaded chassis probes for ease of use, but thats another topic).

the only thing i dislike about my VP1 is the sliders. they are crunchy as hell. it takes a considerable amount of force to stretch the spring and allow for the larger batts like 18650s. the right slider is worse than the left, but even the left is no day at the beach. i thought the sliders would loosen up after a period of use, but ive had it since christmas and its not showing any signs of loosening up. my Tenergy charger from Provape had sliders that far exceed the quality of the sliders in my VP1. but the charging algorithm is the most important feature so i guess its a minor gripe. still annoying though. i dont want to accidentally break a slider, you know?

i considered using some noalox or WD-40 on the spring but i dont know how that would affect the charger. does anyone have any insight on that topic?

I have the exact same issue with my nitecore i4 and thought the exact same thing coming from the provape purchased tenergy charger. Common nitcore/Xtar really?

im interested to learn what works for others as these sliders suck eggs.

I had an xtar and lasted before dying about 4 months. charger worked well while it worked... Went with Nitecore i4 but the sliders suck but charging works well. Very hard to use the sliders. Feels cheap.

Just ordered a Efest Luc 2 bay charger with lcd screen. Hope this works better than the aforementioned chargers.

I want to buy Xtar VP2 and i found this one on Ebay XTAR VP2 Intelligent LCD AC 12V 18650 26650 3 2 3 6 3 8 Battery Charger USB EU | eBay

I do not know if there are clones of this charger, I want the original.
Can you guys please tell me what you think,is this one is original one?
Thanks

the "scratch inquiry" in image #2 is what verifies authenticity. they would have to scratch that off and reveal to you the code beneath. you then put that code into XTar's website and it verifies for you. perhaps the seller is willing to do this prior to purchase.

one thing to check on however is if the XTar VP2 was recalled. i seem to remember something to that effect.
