considering you can get a XCube II for around 60$~ or so online, its not a bad mod. I just tend to avoid smok mods from bad experience.... (SID was faulty as all hell, XCube 1 never sat flush and sometimes would fire way higher than what was set, etc)

But that being said, alot of people are using them too without issue. Will admit, the Bluetooth is cool. Be sure to invest in a battery charger too, since it has no onboard charging!

If you're a tinkerer, it's perfectly fine for temp control. TC requires more than a fair bit of dialing-in for new coils/coilsets, though. I own one, and I'm quite happy with mine using 316L stainless in my DogeV2S in TC mode. That said, if you DO NOT like having to go through dialing in a new coil with trial and error, you'll probably find the XCube II rather frustrating in TC mode. Watt mode is lovely, period.

from everything i have read it can be a great mod. however, there are some huge pros and cons to go with it. I actually have one on order currently and prior to placing the order i did extensive research. essentially:
- is you are just using it as a regular mod in watt mode you cant beat the power/$ of this unit
- great toys built in which will impress people
- if you start vaping it on high watts your batteries will die really fast. one the voltage gets too high and the current ramps up you would be much better getting a DNA200 with the LiPo batteries (higher base voltage output)
- the temperature control needs some tweaking. it wont work as well as you hope it will out of the box. there is quite a bit of info online on what to set your coefficients to as a starting point.
- because you can modify the coefficients you can tweak the TC to be exactly what you need. also, in theory if another type of TC wire comes out you can just plug in the coefficient for that and away you go. after all, in essence thats the only difference between Ni, Ti, and SS TC modes.
- there is currently an issue where if you purchase extra options and upgrade the firmware you will lose the purchase. i can only assume that that will be fixed in the future. however, purchasing these is very low cost anyways so you might not mind. given that it is a paypal purchase you could always just open a paypal complaint anyways.
