I just got in my ego c with a vivi nova tank and there is a gap in between the connection area. Is there a adapter I should be using or is the way it should be?

You can buy a sleeve which threads on to the outside eGo threads to hide the threads- also helps give some support to the tank.

You're not a PITA and smart to be asking. Is there a preferred vendor you order from?
I have both the regular skirt and the flanged skirt for my ego. I like the flanged even on < 3 ml tanks. It gives a nice grove for one of my fingers to rest on and prevents me from blocking the air holes as I sometimes find myself doing.
Aesthetically, it kind of looks silly but it's just an ego.
