I find it interesting...

I read: "Is there a good Mech with top side button?"

and Immediately think: "Roller, Dingo, Poldiac, 69"

I then read the first post, see: "side button on the bottom or on the top" and "little to no modding needed"

and think "OK, easy... Poldiac or 69"...

Then scroll down the thread and see: "Sigelei #20", "Sigelei 24"...

And literally have to scroll back up to make sure I didn't misread the thread title, or first post.

I know I'm going to catch some flack here from Sigelei defenders... but when I see the term "Good Mech" and "little to no modding needed"... pretty much the LAST thing I think of is a Sigelei

YES Sigelei's are inexpensive
YES for their price they're not Horrible
YES With some modding they can be a decent little mod...

As a result they are, by definition, exactly what the OP is NOT looking for.

I also noticed that the OP had the wood "GOOD" in all caps.

Sorry clippin. I should have said decent instead of good? :) I can't afford the big guns. I actually have a 19E that has worked flawlessly. I just don't like the bottom button. Selling it. Also have a EHPRO EA clone. Nice! But, wife doesn't like the bottom side button.

Thanks all for the great suggestions! I'll check them out. And thanks jmjax! I forgot to mention, I'd really like one that would fit 18650 with kick (Like the 19E. ;) Do any of these have that option? I like telescoping.

Umm..... OK, since we're all just loaded with cash like you, from now on I won't recommend any cheap mods...

The (name that starts with an 'S' and ends with a 'igelei' but can no longer be mentioned) model 24 does NOT allow enough space for a Kick with the 18650 battery. You can use a kick with the 18500/18490 size batteries but if you use 18650 you'll have to go kickless.....

Fair enough... but you should know then, not to expect a Sigelei to work to its full potential without modding it.(which was one of your requests)

LOL....

How many mods do you own?

How many Attomizers/RBAs, carto-tanks, etc?

Me... I currently own:

1 mod
1 RBA

I don't have enough money to waste... so I buy better quality when I can afford to make a purchase.

2 eVic's, 2 Sigelei 24's, an RSST, an AGI, several protanks, a Tatreo Tank, a Davide Tank (sucks), and 2 PuriTanks.

You buy better quality and there's nothing wrong with that but many people (like me) prefer to buy cheaper stuff to see if they like it before committing a larger amount of money to something else.

As for the original topic of this thread, the Sigelei 24 won't hold the Kick with the 18650 battery unless you modify the top cap (it has an open space under it where the air control chamber is) however, part of the OP's requirements are no modding so..... the 24 is out.

It will work to its potential. Yes? :) And I think I said minor modding is ok.

Thanks guys! Ya... These are mainly just toys and bare bones emergency backups. I won't (I say that now :)) be sub ohm'ing or anything. Once I got the 19E and EA clone, I realized for cheap I can do this. My wife's fumble fingers (partially due to arthritis, partially to just not paying attention), she changes settings without realizing it on provari and vamo(before it died). Just got her an SVD. She likes, but too big. And the little button on the BP hurts her thumb. (Jeez!!!)

She liked the EHPRO EA a lot, but just not the bottom/side (palm?) button.

I figure if I get one of these and put a kick in it, it will be just press and play. I just want to make sure it's consistent and safe. I build her coils 2-2.5 Ohms.

fountain, lol. too criptic for me. You can say Sigelei :)

I'm seeing that not many of any type mod fits 650 and kick. She may have to live with 500+kick. I'm just thinking without all the electronics in there, it might not be too big.

Thanks again!

ooh! ooh!! Can you link me to, or describe, the mod needed to make this work?

I said little to no modding folks. I can tinker and fix things. I just don't have major tools (big saws, welding, solder, not even a dremel) I should have said "modded with hand tools. :)

The inside of the 24's top cap has a SS center post that comes down from the top about 3/8", if you grind that down flat with the underside of the top cap, it should (note the word SHOULD) have enough space to hold the Kick. The inside diameter is big enough, it just has that stupid center post in the way.
I have not done this mod myself yet due to not having a drill press and I am working on a different mod at the moment (putting the Sigelei Nzonic cap on a 24 mech, it threads right but needs a little work with a drill press too) but I will be getting a drill press soon..... or going to a machine shop, at this point the machine shop is probably the cheaper option.

I left the original Sigelei top cap at home, when I get off work I will take a picture of the inside part so you can see what I am talking about.

Here's a pic of the inside of the 24's top section with the cap removed. The original Sigelei cap has more space inside it (pics later) so between the space shown here and the space available inside the cap the Kick should fit... SHOULD.. remember, I haven't tried this yet.

Oh and this is how close the Sigelei Nzonic cap comes to fitting without being modded....

Sig #23 has a nice button, 69 (top or bottom) function, and a bit of a fugly top cap. But the top cap from my #8 works with it in the way that I have the 8 cap currently adjusted. So I just ordered a Sig Nzonic clone cap for it. Might work well. Or your wife may really like the fugly cap as it comes on the #23:

But you acted like I was rich... actually mocking me for it....

When in reality... you've clearly spent more money than I have.
