the led? I've got a 901 and the led is orange (ick). I was wondering if there is anyway to "shut" the led off? I just want it to look like a pink pen.

OR is there a vendor that sells 901 and 501 batts without led's??

I think the safest way would be to carefully remove the ash looking end cap with a knife edge or fingernail. Then you could just put a dab of black nail polish on the tiny LED to block out the light. Then reinstall the end cap.

If I were you I would get some matching pink nail polish and just paint it- it might have a pink glow to it when your done- and if you don't like it you can just scrape it off.

Another option is to remove the cap and put some tissue paper in the cap to block the light. The tissue paper can easily be remove later if you change your mind.

Thanks everyone...I've tried the nail polish...still glows orange, even with a coat of black polish first!

I'll try popping the ashy thing off (it's so tacky too!). Just wanted to be sure before I pulled it apart.

A tiny piece of black tape directly on the LED should stop the light escaping.

It is also possible to cut the wires, but there is risk of shorting the battery.

Any enamel could be used on the outside of the led cap. Use some masking tape first on the battery barrel and paint with any color enamel.

why not just put a regular pen cap on the end of your 901? but it sounds like you already took it apart
