Possibly China??

Well, I have not been able to find out if main land China has approved them. I would say yes, but I do not know.

I have been informed that Korea has approved a brand of E.liquid and the same brand has passed the German food and drug administration test, and it is waiting for the approval for human consumption. That is a step forward, but it is all that I have been able to find.

Thank to the members that have listed the countries where it has been baned, but I am looking for countries that have approved it or that allow it to be sold freely. I do not know what is the legal situation in UK for example.

Thanks

From all the reading here, I believe only the Isle of Mann (or Pines) off southwestern Cuba has approved e-cigs. It's a tiny place and a vendor talked them into allowing e-cigs in businesses there.

Add Austria, Belgium, Singapore and Israel to the partial or controlled ban list.

Point is, no country that has given this serious consideration has gone on to approve e-smoking. Why would Columbia be any different?

TB, well I am not saying that Colombia will be different. Just that I have to give it a try, because it is the only way that I will risk a large investment in this e-cig business. I am working in small quantities, but I am looking to really hit hard the market.

Now, I have found out that my competitor here has been having problems with customs and his last shipment has been sized because the product do not have the proper registration in our FDA simile here.

Also, I have been working with a consultant in this kind of procedures, and he thinks that there is a good possibility to be approved by our FDA. Our laws are different and also our law system is based on the Napoleonic system and that can be an advantage.

So, based in our law system, it will be a lot easier to be approved if the product has been approved in any other country in the world. That is why I am trying to find out.

And also a plus is the fact that if I am approved for Colombia, it will mean to be approved for another 4 Latin American countries.

I'd suggest you pm pillbox38.

Totally Wicked has gone through much in terms of compliance with UK regulators in terms of selling its liquid, and he may be able to give you some good insight as to the exact legal situation in the UK.

Good luck with your quest. I'm in Venezuela for a couple of months every year, and wish I could help people I know there with obtaining ecigs. Earlier this year when I was there, one guy really wanted me to help him, by ordering up here and then getting them to him there. But it just seemed like a hopeless situation, what with the ongoing need to obtain liquid and parts.

Thank you so much yvilla.

The main problem with Venezuela is the dollar. Since it is controlled by the government, it is nearly imposible to trade with them with this kind of "fancy" products.

I read on wikki that in germany and austria they are approved as a cessation device but require a doctors prescription.

This information is not correct, ecigs are not approved as medical devices.

In Austria, ecigs have been classified by the relevant authorities as medical devices (see links to the 03/2007 official report and 04/2007 official announcement - in German language). Marketing is not allowed without approval, and approval has NOT been given.
For all member countries of the European Union, the ‘medical device’ slot is the legal means already in place for effectively banning the sale of ecigs (see 05/2008 official EC document). However, it’s up to authorities of the individual member countries to classify ecigs as medical devices (and effectively ban their sale) - or not.
In Germany, so far there has been no official classification of ecigs from federal authorities. Again, ecigs are not approved as medical devices (and will probably never be in their current incarnations).

Thanks Tom. At least we now know where we stand.

And now that the united states has taken yet another step towards a new world order, we're one step closer to being just another nameless euro-style socialist nation comprised of a bunch of couch potato pinheads that needs the government to guide us through our daily lives.

The next thing you know, the government is going to force fast food restaurants to put calorie content on their wares.. LOL
