I was looking for a Protank 2 mini, and found one. I was looking for a 510 base. The ad says "510 drip tip and base". I get an EGO threaded Protank 2 mini, and he won't take it back, because I opened the box. Is this my misunderstanding? He says if it was a 510 base it would have said "510 drip tip and 510 base".

I would have thought exactly what you did. His description was misleading. Did you not see pictures of the product before you bought it? I won't buy anything hardware without a picture myself. You could get an adapter for it.

There's not a lot you can do if he won't take it back. You could dispute the charges with the card you used. No telling if it'll go in your favor though, considering you did receive a product. But you can still try. I would chalk it up to a bad seller. I would think that any good seller would exchange a product when the seller's own poor description is the reason for an unhappy customer.

Well, what part of Protank Mini did you not understand? The Mini versions of the Protank line have always been Ego threaded, do a search on google images, every Mini Protank is an Ego tank. If you were looking for the Protank with a 510 connection, that has always been the full size version of the line. For about $2 USD you can get an Ego to 510 adapter if your mod doesn't have Ego threading or already ship an Ego to 510 adapter with it (ie Eleaf iStick or such).

But not all vapers are familiar with all the information about every single product available. Even when I was using ego-like devices, I never used a protank mini myself. I'm an experienced vaper that didn't even know.

I consider it an oddity, and a bad business practice to not describe all pertinent specs of a device for sale, especially when other information given by the seller would lead someone (who isn't familiar with the product) to believe it would be 510 threaded.

Lately I've noticed people using the term "510 drip tip" and I think it's a total misnomer. Whether an atomizer has a connection type of 510, P3, hybrid, etc., it can use the same "standard" drip tip. 510 refers to the threading and is completely independent of the drip tip. I don't know how much recourse you have on eBay from this seller. Personally, I won't purchase vapor products from eBay.

In my experience both eBay & PayPal are on the buyers side.
Unless he is an absolutely massive eBay seller, your negative feed back, 1 stars and comments are enough to throw his feedback through the window and much harder for him to sell anything in future. If you write a polite but clear message explaining that you will do this he 'should' make good on the deal.

I think the term 510 drip tip is a holdover from the old days, when you would use a drip tip directly on top of your 510 atty. There were a few other sizes out there too (306/808). Now it's just the standard size.

I agree with just picking up a 510 to Ego adapter or two. They are cheap and handy to have around.

I used to prefer bridgeless 901s with drip shields. 901, 306, 510 - I thought the flimsy, hollow, and thin plastic drip tips were all the same.

I guess I did not understand the part that says "510 drip tip and base". There was no word EGO anywhere. He replied that if it was a 510 base, it would have said "510 drip tip and 510 base".

My mistake was buying on ebay.

I agree, that something advertised as having a "[blank] X and Y" means it has a [blank] kind of X, and a [blank] kind of Y.

My mistake was buying on ebay.
I agree with this, too. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do except bad-feedback the :censored:.
