I actually tried a cig after having quit for 2 months... and it tasted great. It actually tasted better than before I quit because my sense of taste has returned since I quit.

However, my lungs felt like crap afterwards.

Thank-you for your post. I'm sitting here thinking what is wrong with me cigs still smell good to me and when I took a drag off a friends smoke it tasted great to me. I actually go through times of wanting a cig sooo bad but am afraid that if I have one I will be right back to smoking.

All I know is that I was hopelessly addicted to Marlboro Reds in every way (like most every smoker), and just up and quit painlessly. I know im ranting and making a speech here but it's the truth. To be honest, the fact that I no longer smoke is ......n ridiculous.

Crazy rant over. :)

Not a crazy rant! Well said and I couldn't agree with you more! :thumb:

It's almost like feeling in the twilight zone or something, every once in awhile I wonder when this "dream" will be over, but then I realize it's no dream.

To be honest, the fact that I no longer smoke is ......n ridiculous.

Crazy rant over. :)

I'll second that. It's unreal... but it's real.

sunday I was at the landrymat, just had put the clothes in the dryer...and my battery died. I had three choices, go home and get another batt, sitting and wait it out, or go buy a pack of cigarettes two doors down. I made it through the whole drying process, folding process and made it home without any nicotine. now THAT is unreal...for me anyway. I was so proud of myself that I made it that long without any nicotine at all and didn't give in and buy some nasty analogs.

My experience is nearly identical with one exception. I can't hardly put my 510 down! I puff less than I would smoking an analog but I can't stay away from it for to long.
Like you i have only just started vaping. I CAN not put my 510 down either. it is the best thing since "smokin" the old tobacco road way. I think after a while you can take 3-5 hits on the 510 and be done for a while. I hope so, cause now i think instead of ciggs i am now addicted to my 510.

It didn't take more than a week to really get off analogs. Problem was in the beginning had not built up adequate supply of PV supplies and on 1 occasion bought a pack while waiting for supplies. Hated em and in a week only lit half a pack, couldn't smoke a whole cigarette, then gave other half away.
At first vaped like a dragon all day long. Now, much , much less.
I am beginning to believe I have slain the beast of addiction . I will likely be able to wean off even PV soon, should i want to

I can't believe this is normal. I got an ecig about a day and a half ago. After a day with NO "real" smokes I can't STAND smoking a real cigarette. I am a fairly heavy smoker but after a day I realize that my addiction was mostly psychological. With an ecig I only take a few drags and put it away. With "real' smokes I would smoke the whole thing.

After one day I had no urge to smoke a real cigarette. For an experiment I lit one up... and it tasted AWFUL. It was terrible compared to the non smelly lightly sweet taste of an ecig.

The other thing that I am looking forward to is no ash trays, no lighters or matches to worry about. No worrying about dropped ashes. No worries about having to go outside in the winter to smoke etc etc etc. No smell of smoke on my clothes.

I totally agree. I found that when I needed a cig I would lite up and once I did I would have to finish the whole thing even if I needed just a couple of drags, I hated putting it out because they are so expensive. Not with my e-cig, need a hit or two great and then I can put it away. It really changed the way I smoke. I noticed after two days I really didn't like the taste of my analogs anymore.

The longest I ever quit before was for 3 months (using the patch) and I gotta be honest I wasn't turned off by the smell of cigarettes at all then. It was a constant temptation. It has been so different with the ecig.

So does anyone have any idea why it might be that analogs are so unappealing when using ecigs?

I think it's because of the pure flavor of vaping. I've tried (out of curiosity) to smoke 2 analogs since September 30th and couldn't get beyond 2 or 3 drags of each. Hated the paper taste, mostly. Quit a 37 year smoking habit the day I got my PV in the mail. Never going back! :D

Ecigs are one of the best things that have ever happened to me. I tried out of curiosity a few months ago and haven't had a whole analog since. I was a pack a day smoker with no intention of quitting and then my M401 came in the mail. I quit smoking analogs without even realizing I had done it. I tried an analog once, a week after vaping my 401 and it tasted like burnt leaves from the yard and paper bags. Disgusting. I couldn't even finish the whole thing. So I gave away my analogs.

I can't be without my ecig ever though. My gf tries to play around and hide it from me and I notice it's gone and proceed to start hunting for it within minutes. Gives her kicks. She likes it cuz I don't taste and smell like an ashtray and I like it cuz I don't have to go stand in the rain to smoke at work. I am still in the process of trying all the different flavors.

My lungs feel better, my throat feels better, and I'm not coughing in the morning when I wake up. I had mild withdrawal symptoms (irritability mostly) during the first two weeks of vaping but I think it's because I hadn't completely figured out how to work it just right yet. Once I figured out how to optimize the vaping I was all set.

As I said...Ecigs are among the best things that have ever happened to me. I'm never going back to analogs.

Update on my progress.

I am hooked! Still can't stand to "smoke". I now have two of the darn things. I ordered a Totally Wicked Titan online... couldn't wait for it and bought a Smoking Everywhere at the local mall. So now I can buy carts at the mall if I need to. Got the Titan in the mail yesterday and am comparing them. I love the portable charging "pack" for the Titan but the "hit" of vapor isn't as strong as the Smoking Everywhere.

A few observations...

I get a burning sensation sometimes when putting in a new cartridge. I think the liquid gets on the mouth piece. Hope this isn't too bad. I sometimes get that on my fingers when loading them too.

Hard to hold in mouth like an analog cig. Small price to pay I suppose.

I hate not knowing EXACTLY how many "cigs" I have left. With analog you always know exactly how many you have.

I am concerned about some articles I read about the FDA going after the ecigs. Seizing shipments, seemingly over hyped and possibly bogus reports on mislabeled "ingredients". Sheesh. Now the FDA and big tobacco are on the same team. Something smells fishy.. uh... er... smokey to me.

The carts and stuff are made in... China. Not the best reputation for product safety there. I guess I shouldn't worry too much. They do make iPods and iPhones in China and no one has been killed by those... yet. ;)

Speaking of which... the toxicity of the carts and pure nicotine does worry me a bit. I like that the totally wicked product comes in childproof bottles. I am treating this stuff like toxic waste... that I love so much. ;) Do NOT eat the chocolate flavored carts. I have to be VERY careful with these things. It's like the difference between drinking a beer and... drinking a bottle of rubbing alcohol. You would have to chew a lot of analog cigs to get the same effect as swallowing a cartridge.

Anyway... no deal breakers. I am commited to this new cool thing. If I end up quitting entirely that would be excellent!!! If not, at least I smell better... and taste better.... uh... I mean "I" taste better... I mean... stuff tastes better TO me. I suppose after an apple flavored cartridge I might taste pretty good too... anyway. I'm hooked.
;)

I had battery problems about two days after starting to vape and it was a horrible experience.
Funny thing though, my mind still remembers it as an enjoyable experience and the craving for one pops up now and then.
I also know if I lit one up, I'd hate it. Sometimes memories are just wonderful things and should remain memories.

I was initially paranoid about the e-liquid in my mouth or on my hands, or spilled ANYwhere...I have since learned that you would have to swallow 60mg of PURE nicotine to croak and the e-liquid is diluted crazy (36mg is 3.6mg, 24 is 2.4mg, etc....) (please correct if I'm wrong, just quoting what I read) I get that stuff leaking on me all the time (510's and 801's notorious for that when dripping) or on my lips...I wipe it up, lick my fingers, whatever, I have occasionally gotten the hiccups if I get some liquid through the mouthpiece by inhaling too hard or fast..I'm afraid I am a little cavalier about it now...I do not notice any ill effects...

As far as the stock batts and attys...except for the juices my understanding is they all come from from China and US distributors just distribute or re-brand...there's a great China vendor "Heavengifts" or "RuyanDirect" that I order from for unbelievable prices when I don't mind the wait (3 weeks).

When I started I bacame paranoid over backup hardware failing or not being charged and that I'd have to go back to analogs, even temporarily...I just could not believe I did not want one and was willing to spend any amount to not!!! Now I have plenty of EVERYthing, have gotten used to vaping process which requires alot of fiddling...definitely a comittment... however one I am willing to stick with, my health is LEAPS and BOUNDS better! Best wishes!
