It is a different type of draw than with an "analog" and there is a bit of a learning curve. You don't need to suck as hard. I find that a light steady draw works the best.

If you are gettnig the taste in your mouth it is probably the nic juice. You can get this if you have overfilled your cart or if you are drawing to hard.

As far as the coughing, again it is an acquired habit. I find that 4 months in, I can draw much longer than when I first started.

Hi T-Bay, Like Elendil says, It can take a while to get use to vapor instead of smoke. Two weeks for me. If you are getting juice in the mouth just take a paperclip and stick it in the end hole of the cart and push it over to pop out the end cap and dry out the liquid with a paper towel, this should help. (take lighter drags to avoid pulling juice into the end).

My first three days of vaping were ROUGH on my throat, to the point I thought I might be allergic to PG.. Same thing you are describing, I could only take a small puff and even then it hit my throat hard. Around my fifth day my throat was back to normal and all is well, just tasty, pain-free puffing. Just give it some time.

Pain aside, how are you liking the nuport juice?

I've heard a lot of people say they coughed a lot after they started vaping - I never experienced that; and assumed it was possibly related to the lungs clearing themselves. I also wondered if it could have been drawing too hard - I have actually inhaled some of the juice from drawing too hard/fast - and that would certainly cause you to gag/cough.

I agree with the other replies though, there really is a learning curve as compared to smoking actual cigarettes - but once you get it - you got it.

I only wish I'd come across this much sooner than I did, I am so happy to be cigarette free after more than 30 years; what a wonderful feeling.
