I run a .28 ohm dual on my Kraken with Sony 30amps, still got my face.... I've run the Panasonic CGRs with .18 ohm dual coil on my drippers with no problem, not the smartest but the batteries were fine. Warning.. This is well over the amperage rating for the CGR cells, and could result in catastrophic failure. Do not attempt.

Do you realize you were pulling 23 amps from a 10 amp rated battery? That isn't just not smart, that's insane. It is probably permanently damaged and dangerous to keep using, even if you don't notice anything wrong with it. Please make sure you fully understand battery safety before you hurt yourself or start your house on fire, or encourage some uninformed reader to do the same.

Please do some more reading on battery safety before you hurt yourself or start your house on fire, or encourage some uninformed reader to do the same.

Yup, I know how to do math, was fully aware the dangers... Was paying attention to the mod the whole time, button never got hot... Don't take a condescending tone to me. I wasn't recommending it to anybody, just said I did it.

EDIT: I guess YMMV could be misconstrued as a suggestion to try it. Will remove it and put a warning.

Why even bother saying that you did it?

Aside from making yourself look like an idiot, it could encourage other people to do the same.

The fact that you can snipe back doesn't make you any smarter, tell me, how close was your face to the mod while you were 'paying attention' to it? Were you sure you would get a chance to do something about it before it blew up?
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh, this is how modding gets a bad name.

Hope a moderator removes this thread before some other idiot gets a bad idea from it

Yup, was ready to chuck my cronus if it started to get hot. It was obviously right in front of my face, since I was vaping it.

Battery safety isn't something I take lightly, but sometimes you run out of charged 30 amp batteries and feel like pushing the limits. Don't give a .... if you call me an idiot, I'm a risk taker, took a risk.. I still got my face and all 10 digits.

Running a 10 amp battery at 23 amps isn't very bright. I'm sorry but there really is no way to justify that. There is no reason to get defensive about it. I like my batteries to last for a while. Even though your battery didn't get hot and nothing bad happened your battery life span will significantly decrease due to the stress put on it. I'm willing to assume that your voltage drop with that battery was huge due to a higher internal resistance than 30 amp batteries coupled with the stress put on it.

Yup, name calling... Real mature of yourself. I'm 25 years old.

Do you even know how long it takes an 18650 to go thermal? It's not like a short fuse on a firecracker. Go do some research yourself. I made sure that if I did vape, I was far enough away from other people, in case it did go thermal and I had to toss my mod so nobody else would get hurt.

You guys make like I am totally careless, I took necessary precautions in the risk I took.

Get off your ....ing high horse.

WOW...running just over 2 ohms with a 10 amp batt is risky,i know a good plastic surgeon who can repair your face later.
Heavyrocker MEANT...... POINT TWO (.2) ohms with a 10A battery....!!
TWO OHMS (2.0) would be fine....
NOT picking on your post, heavy......JUST a kinda CYA!!:D
Happy -and SAFE! (vaping) Trails!

I am truly sorry that my reply seemed condescending, and I admit that it was. Its just that descriptions of this type of unsafe setups need to disappear from this forum. I totally understand that you know what you are doing and coherently chose to take a risk and did so as observantly as possible, but many of those searching for advice do not have a clue. It is no ones business to tell someone else what they can and can't do, and for that I apologize, but what we are doing here is trying to protect those who are not making a real decision because they don't understand the risks.

The batt is just a 18650 10 amp panasonic,i think i may break it apart, better safe than sorry, thanks for the help.

With a fully charged battery at 4.2 volts / .4 ohms = 10.5 amps, so you're drawing over what that battery is rated for. Personally I wouldn't go below .6 ohms with that battery (7 amp draw), but .5 ohms should still be safe (8.4 amps).

Edit: Lol, personally I actually wouldn't go below 1.2 ohms, just because that's the way I like my vape.
