Is this Soldering?

To me this looks like the NR wire is soldered on, I know I have not seen wire welding like this before. If it is soldered, is it safe? If needed I can get a much better pic, this is just one with my phone.

I'd use it. Just be careful.

looks like it. Also yes, soldering can be safe if the right solder is used (generally silver/zinc based for food grade stuff).

Well I'm not using it, but my friend is. I just got a head to recoil and before I freak him out I was going to try to get some info.

Yep, definitely not normal tin/lead solder. Can't imagine why this would be done. Soldering seems like more time and work than just spinning a wire. I'm curious.

It's the stock coil, I just pulled it to rebuild it and noticed it was different than other Kanger coils I have seen, or another ones really. Thanks for the answers I'm going to guess its the safe type of soldering.
