My bro got a ego clk (one that goes to high power after clicking it. ) he got it around the same time I got mine. He hasn't gotten off the smokes yet. But I bought him an MVP for just birthday. I am.hoping it will have more luck....or am I just wishing. Is it kinda like if he can't quit with the ego he won't be much better off with the MVP?

Maybe the eliquid he is using needs to be higher mg. my husband uses very low 6 mg and has continued to smoke for a year. His smoking has cut way down but he says there is something in the cigarette he can't do without. He tells me it's not the nicotine he craves though. There are other things in cigarettes that keep people feeling more productive and mentally happy. Also if one does not want to quit smoking and has no will power to do so then they will smoke forever.

If a person does not want to quit, most likely they will not. It may be over time he may find vaping more enjoyable than smoking and just kinda switch. Which happened to me. I loved smoking, but tried to quit for my family. It was very difficult. I finally realized I had to quit for me and not others.

Quite frankly look at yourself and see what your brother would like to change about you. It is hard to do and quite eye opening.

There are more addictive substances in cigarettes then just the nicotine. If your brother is already vaping a high level of nicotine, he may be craving those other substances. Some people find that chewing Snus helps them stave off cravings, along with vaping. Another thing to look into is WTA liquid, or Whole Tobacco Alkaloid liquid. This kind of liquid contains more alkaloids from the tobacco plant, and may be the thing he's missing.

In the end however, it's mostly about a desire to quit. While vaping has made quitting easier for me, it was still difficult. There were a lot of cravings the first few weeks. It was my own desire to quit that made me continue to vape through the cravings, rather then light a cigarette. That and the fact that I am one of the lucky few who developed a strong distaste for cigarettes the more I vaped. The last cigarette I had I couldn't finish, as it tasted like burning tires in a garbage dump to me.

Yep.... the ONLY people we have the power to change is ourselves. It sounds like your brother is interested in quitting though sense he bought some gear. He just has to be committed to it.

Hmm. Well he wants to quit. He has cut down....he is down to a couple a day. So I should have gotten him.different tanks and stuff. To be honest, he's vaping over 3 ohms, so that might have something to do with it.

Cutting down is a good thing. I don't know your brother so I have no idea the best way to interact. Some people push back when people try to push them. I have 2 brothers myself and when were kids it usually lead to a round of fisticuffs in the back yard. Yeah I know but it was a different time then.

It won't hurt to try different tanks. I personally love the PT2s even above my RDAs and RBAs. It is a nice satisfying continuous vape. RDAs are great for me for a couple puffs then it goes bland. RBAs are too finicky. I tend to have a drink.. whether it be water, beer, coffee or what have you and enjoy a 30-45 minute mellow out vape. I treat it similar to having a good cigar, which I still enjoy, Sadly.. the cigars are losing their appeal too.

Sorry.... going to agree with tinkiegrll too... Some WTA, whole tobacco alkaloids can help. After a year and half, I still had a cigarette craving (actually could still catch the scent of it). I bought some and that craving went away. I used it for a month or two. I no longer use it, and I do not get that sensation anymore.

My brother is at a very similar point as yours....

I'll add one more vote for focusing on the juice at this point.

Juice is a combination of flavor, nicotine content (plus WTA as another option) & pg/vg ratios.

Finding that Goldilocks just-right combination may take some trial & error.

Like most, my & my brother's initial desire was/is for the "Marlboro - Winston" taste to replicate the smoking experience.

He's still there, but my taste has now evolved (& healed!) and tobacco is no where on my menu.

As to pg/vg, I had read that higher pg enhanced the throat hit, so I went with 80/20 or 65/35.

After a recent experience with a 50/50 mix from Killer-juice.com(!), I find it to be a much more pleasing throat-hit and far more cigarette like in sensation.

Nicotine - I'll ask the same question others have posed: is he getting enough? Might try going up, and if you / he end up too high, thin it down with some vg from the drugstore/walmart as to not waste the juice ;)

Are there any local shops that he could sample different flavors?

Good luck and kudos to you for being such a good brother to him! :thumb:
