Does this apply to the U.K too?

The UK Government enacted the introduction of the TPD last April, in time for the EU regulations to start on May 19th 2016.

Any product manufactured before November 19th 2016 (tanks, liquid, etc.) can still be sold until May 2017. After this date, tanks can be no larger than 2ml, must be "child proof" and leak proof. No liquid can be sold above 20mg/ml (so in reality, 18mg/ml) or be sold in volumes above 10ml per bottle. You can still buy 100ml but you will receive ten 10ml bottles. And all products must have warnings on them about nicotine being "highly addictive" - even if the product doesn't actually contain nicotine! (tanks).

You can still buy mods. And if the manufacturer of a tank offers an extension kit to increase the capacity you can use that but it has to be sold separately.

Wire/cotton/batteries are not affected by the regulations.

The biggest problems are: If you DIY you will no longer be able to buy nicotine solution in the usual strengths of 54mg/ml or 72mg/ml (stockpile!). Or, if you prefer to vape 24mg/ml liquid you will have to drop to 18mg/ml. (Oh, and the environmental cost of all those extra bottles! They want to "protect the children" don't mind messing up the planet in which they will live in... )

Because the TPD is already part of the UK statute, even after we have left the EU, until it's repealed - it's the law (and don't expect it to be high up on their list).

Those 10ml bottles are a great evil plan to turn indifferent folks against vapers. Once, little bottles and caps start popping up everywhere the hatred will seethe. They may aide in taxation, but the greater value is the mess they will leave behind.

Plus, (in the UK) the revenue (circa £11 billion per annum) far exceeds the costs incurred to treat any illnesses caused by smoking.

There is also the added "bonus" of smokers early deaths reducing the number of people the Government have to pay the State Pension to, therefore reducing the Welfare bill.

Smoking causes all kinds of health problems, there's more money in treatment for those who smoke.
BT doesn't care if you get cancer, they figure if they don't get your money, BP will. It goes hand in hand, treatment equals more money, quitting smoking/curing cancer equals no money.

Because there is HUGE profit in treating the sick and dying, that is why not to mention large amount of Tax revenue.

All you really hear is Big Tobacco being the villain, yes they have a dog in the race but the biggest opponent is Big Pharma. They're the 800lb gorilla who has the biggest influence in the FDA and with the Politicians. The biggest prostitutes are the DNC and their Pimps are Big Pharma. Yes there couple in the RNC like that stool sample we have as a VP Pence but the over all majority that is out to ban Vaping is the DNC. Everyone of the bills out to jack up tax's on Vaping to obscene levels and or out right banning are from Democrats. Then to add to this the fairly recent bill to allow to buy prescriptions from Canada for lower cost was killed due to the Democrats. Yes my own Senator Patty Murry who is on the FDA oversight committee was right there killing that bill. It cuts into the profits of Big Pharma.

They could care less about public health, too much profit is in the sick and dying. As I stated Big Pharma is the 800lb gorilla that is behind killing Vaping. They have the Politicians like the DNC firmly in their pockets and have also padded the FDA with their puppets.
