Has any found a supplier or company that has tobacco e-juice like or very similar to MFS Turbosmog, Tall Paul, or Red Luck?

"Isn't this common knowledge?" And the hiring standards to work a B&M...

This is kind of a rant so I apologize.

I went into a local B&M today to get some holes in my IGO-W cap enlarged (from 1/16th to 3/32), because the vapor from my dual coil build was relatively hot. A friend of mine has the same build as me with 3/32 holes in the cap and he let me try it out last night. The larger holes completely solved my problem.

So one employee takes it to the back while I sit at the juice bar and try some flavors. He comes back out and says that the largest the had was 5/64, which I was ok with (1/64th of a difference is fine). He takes it back and drills it. The entire time he's working on my cap the rest of the staff is trying to convince me that larger holes will only make the vapor hotter.

Really? I thought it was common knowledge that larger holes cooled vapor? I get that increased air flow makes the coils hotter, producing more vapor. But the vapor itself has been cooled by larger holes in every one of my past RDAs. And there were 3 employees telling me this. This is their job.

The week before that I went in to another location for a new battery. I asked if they had AW18650s, the guy pulled out an AW 18650 and a generic ICR18650. The AW was actually cheaper, so he was trying to convince me to get the generic ICR. He tried to sell me on it by saying, and I quote, "This one is cheaper, but its way worth it because this one puts out more mAh."

...:?:

The AW was rated at 2000mAh and the ICR was at 2600mAh. At this point I could have brought up what mAh actually meant, gone into detail about safe chemistry, and the C rating of the batteries he was showing me. But I chose to feign ignorance to save him the embarrassment. He also saw that I was using a mech mod and still pursued selling me the unprotected ICR. That's just unsafe. I did end up writing to the stores customer service e-mail about it later, though. I felt they should be aware.

Am I just having bad luck here with B&M employees? Does anyone else run into this issue with local vape stores? It seems like most of them know the names of current trending mods, how to build, and which flavors taste the best, but not much else when it comes to technicalities.

I understand that the demand for vape store employees sprung up rather quickly. Many locations probably didn't have time to field test their new hires. I'm just saying that its the the responsibility of the B&M operator to ensure that his staff is properly trained and educated. Especially when dealing with unprotected batteries. And I don't really see much of that in my local shops.

nope, right now vaping is just stepping into the golden age as many people are now being exposed to it, sales are up and unfortunately everybody will try to step in to make a big dollar until people become more aware. sadly its like everything else. the stereo guys cant explain the stereo, the pc store cant explain the video cards.. i work in optics and the retailers always go really? when we call to correct something on their orders - what do you mean really, your an optician lol.

opening a store takes money not knowledge. and if i could find capitol I would own the best vape store around here lol

walk in and look around and its knock off ego c batteries not even twists, clearomizers are 10 bucks a pop.

I feel so bad for the unfortunate people who walk into this place, and there are plenty of them in there when i drive by.

You are just spoiled walk in to most shops in the rest of the country and they would look at you like a Idiot if you asked them to drill out a IGO anything they might even ask you what it was.

If you spend a little time on ECF you get a little knowledge we think its normal most think we are the furthest right wing libertarian in camo vapers ;-)

I was blind but now I seeeeee

Seriously though, this whole experience has really opened my eyes to the unfortunate states of many B&Ms. Hopefully the mass wave of relatively new vapers (myself included; I got into vaping around the time the "boom" started) will educate themselves.

At the very least that place was wrong for even touching your IGO. Unless they plan to replace it every time they drill something and someone says "I don't like it."

They actually make you sign a release of liability form for any drill work. Honestly I'd trust them to drill my IGO cap more than myself. I've tried it before and messed up my AGI cap beyond repair :/

I've had 3 separate RDAs drilled at different locations and I've been satisfied each time. Despite the fact that this place didn't have the drill bit I was looking for, their job was pristine. Nice, clean 5/64 holes :D

EDITED.

Not everyone in a B&M is into mech mods and rebuild-ables. Not everyone in a B&M will know what you're talking about. In the B&M's situation, hopefully the employee will/can refer you to someone more knowledgeable about rebuild-ables than he/she.

I get what you're saying. I totally agree with every word. Thank GAD we hired a guy who can wrap an RSST wick and coil. We can't do it for the customers, but at least we have a guy on our side who knows what he's talking about when it comes to mechs, rebuild-ables, and rsst's.

Sorry for my use of "rebuild-able". I dislike the hyphen, but I dislike the look of "rebuildables" even more.

EDIT: And I would never, EVER, alter a customer's device unless I knew EXACTLY what I was doing and with their COMPLETE consent. (If someone's gonna alter your device, make dang sure they know what they're doing. If you're even half-suspicious, don't do it).

Same thing here. Young guy owns 3 mall kiosks in my state. Hes never at any of them. I actually applied for a job and after months of phone tag back and forth, he set up an interview. I go for the interview and the employee working at the kiosk says "The owner was here 10 o clock this morning, but he left for his cruise to the bahamas an hour ago" He literally blew me off and went on a cruise lol. A while later I e-mailed them and posted to their FB page about the upcoming ban of public use of e-cigs in our state and never got a single reply. Their eGo kit comes with only 1 battery, its only 900 mah, and its over 100 dollars. Their cartomizers are 21.32 for a 5 pack. Repackaged smoktechs. $4.50 per cartomizer. Money.
