Hey, folks! Just found this thread and didn't realize there had been any recent new discussions on this. Glad to see the topic is still alive.
As for the OP's question,
that device is NOT, I must repeat NOT a Cartomizerfillinator equivalent.
I actually ordered both the "med" and "non-med" variations so I could see what they were about. Ordinarily I would not have cared but that "vendor" attempted to have my thread taken down over his "patent pending" and things got ugly for a couple of weeks. I didn't speak much about it before because it appeared the status of my ECF account was in question for a while. That storm seems to have passed though and the "vendor" in question has been oddly silent for the past couple of months on all fronts - Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other forums.
Now I'm happy to talk about the whole deal, at least as much as necessary to answer any questions to protect others from falling prey to that vendor and I would be happy to answer any questions about that vendor's device. I can say that generally speaking:
- It does work when used properly;
- The non-med version won't last for long;
- Both versions are made from off-the-shelf parts and horribly overpriced;
- If you do decide to order, be prepared for several weeks of waiting
Also, for anyone who hasn't noticed yet, several
Cartomizerfillinators are and will be given away via PIF/Treasure Chest through this weekend - basically, a bunch left over from the parts I bought doing research and design that aren't doing anyone any good sitting on my workbench. Since I still haven't figured out a better way to make them in quantity and so far I am not willing to put up with the restrictions of being an ECF vendor, better to give them away. Keep your eyes peeled, be quick to respond when new offers come up, and do what
you can to support PIF/Treasure Chest to keep the good karma flowing.
