Issues with taste, its not vapers tongue.

Ok so I've been trying different coils, picked up a new one today, it's larger and had 8 wraps, on the container it said .3ohm, maybe that's with 2 installed? when I installed it the ohms were too high, .6 ohms so I unwrapped it to get 3 and got it down to .30 ohms. So I get all excited slap it in there, get the cotton perfect, prime it up, break it in, put to 55 watts aaaaand.... Big clouds no taste. No sweetness. Man I'm confused.

So my last coil before I put this in, it kinda did that at first then after using it all day it started tasting sweet and flavorful. It was still good honestly but I wanted to try a new one. And now I'm sitting here trying to figure out why it doesn't taste like anything.

Tldr, when you put in a new coil and cotton is it normal for there to be no flavor or sweetness at first? Or do I have something configured wrong? It's all primed up, its feeding juice, making big clouds, no taste. I tried dripping juice down into it too, no difference. Wth. Help very appreciated. I may just switch back to the other coil.

Edit: Gonna put an update of what I've learned so far. Something is wrong with my arbiter tank and it's also messing with the mod. Arbiter has no flavor and caused puff cou ter to get stuck, persists for a little bit after I switch tanks.

Hmm, could be wicking isn't tight enough through the coil/coils and or not enough wraps with the coil/coils.

More wraps = more heat capacity = more vaporisation (within limits).

Just depending on the atomiser used and the wicking you can only wick so much liquid, so it can take time to find what really works for you.

Have you been vaping the same juice for a while? ,even tho you dont think vapors tongue just try it drip diff juice something totally diff like if you vaped creams try a fruit flavor,still no taste? But you do see vapor? Its prob what mordicai says tight wick,wick should be able to move back and forth without moving the coil but tight enough u can feel it grab while u move the wick but coil it self is not moving, this is good tightness,wick expands when wet so if it was tight its only even tighter now..

Edit: and yes its normal if you JUST wicked it the taste will be off this is called breaking the cotton in and coils usually only takes like 10-20puffs to get it going fully

It's a new juice, now it's a little better, usually it's so sweet it makes my drink taste sour tho. Idk. Gonna keep doing trial and error.

Could something be wrong with my mod for there to be no flavor? Noticed the batter compartment is closed but sticks up a little bit too, holding it down makes no difference. Wth. It's behaving like my old prince stick. That thing had no flavor either.

If I puff really deep I'll get like a tiny bit of some taste, but it's so bland I don't even know what it is. Yesterday before I changed the coil to try a new flavor, I could taste it.

Hmm, could be an issue with the connection with the mod.

So either the contacts for the coil and or the 510.

That'll mess with the ability to read the resistance of the coil and will throw things off.

Say there's a piece of coil wire stuck down in a post, would that have my effect? maybe the deck didn't get tightened down? That kinda stuff?

Alright. I took the coil and cotton out, cleaned it, took the screws all loose and shined a flashlight, I didn't immediately see anything inside the deck, but I didn't remove it completely either. New coil and cotton, still the same. I'll try totally removing the deck now and really looking over it.

Spoke too soon. Something still aint right. Gonna take off the deck completely. If not that, I'm gonna take a wild guess it may be the mod itself.

Yeah, been through this kind of BS many times. All you can do is go through everything you can to eliminate any issues, and sometimes you never really get an answer apart form things don't like playing nice.

But with what's happening with your mod there's definitely something going funky with it @Mediocre00Rebel. Puff counter is playing up and output seems off, could possibly be that the board is crapping out on you.

What mod are you using?

I have valyrian 3 mod. I just put on my other tank, it's a wake tank. Have a dual coil build in that one. The puff counter is still sticking. When the puff counter is not stuck I can taste sweetness and some flavor. Then when the puff counter gets stuck and it's like it's flavorless. Im really suspecting the mod after trying this entirely different tank. The mod was sitting for like 8 months, when I started using it again it tasted great, after about 2 weeks that's when the problems started.

ON TOP of all this, it also seems like the vape juice I just bought is completely tasteless except for a very light, and I mean extremely, bitter orange flavor. Like licking zest. It's not sweet at all! I swear I tasted it yesterday when I bought it though, I dripped some in to try it out and it had a nice flavor. I was having issues with my vape being tasteless prior to that though, so I don't believe it's just the juice. It's supposed to be strawberry orange or something. Expires 11/23. Could the juice also just be "defective"? Lol this is just a whole host of different issues at once.

Like I said too, the flavorless, no sweetness problems before even buying this new juice. Wtf. Puff counter seems to be working as of now...... Gonna try re adding the new juice. Lmao this feels ridiculous.

If coil heats up fine i doubt its the mod does the coils glow normally when pressing the fire button?
If so then its litterly down to wicking, coils, your build and or tank also juice and airflow but to get no flavor at all is weird did u try multiple juices?
Or is it a new juice u havent vaped before?
Taste buds can be weid sometimes, one day i thought the same why am i not gettin flavor?
Rebuild it like 3 times wasting 6 coils cause its dual coil turned out it was vapor tongue even tho i thought it wasnt vapors tongue,
i put in a completely diff juice like from a cream to a fruit that fixed up my taste and when went back to the old juice i tasted it again, minds and taste buds can play tricks but if you litterly tried different juices then im not sure, what coils u running?

I went through all this. Even with my old regular juice, I've vaped plenty, even when losing the taste it was always super sweet. There was suddenly no sweetness, my wicks are fine, thought it was coils. New coil, good at first, no taste after a day. Then another new coil. Same thing. New wick, new coil. My old old coil, I kept re-wicking for weeks and this never happened once. I've tried everything. I put the new juice in again and i can at least taste the sweetness now.

What I've found is that when the puff counter is counting, there is flavor. When it doesn't count, no flavor. So far this seems intermittent. Gonna keep my other tank on and see if it persists any more.

If there is in fact some tiny piece of coil wire jammed in the deck of my other tank, I'm gonna look over it really good tomorrow. I'm so done with this tonight. It doesn't explain why the no puff count/no flavor issue persisted after I switched tanks. Everything seems to be working good with my other tank for now though.

So in the wake tank it's working fine. Something is wrong with the arbiter. Not the mod after all. Edit: but wait, I put back on the wake tank after puffing the tasteless arbiter, and now the wake tank is tasteless again. Wth. It was just working fine.

Maybe the arbiter is shorting out the mod itself somehow? Man this is weird, or that or the mod is messed up.
