istick 50w and Goblin RTA

So I have been vaping with a Provari topped with an Hcigar 3.1 kayfun clone for awhile now building 3.0 ohm coils with 32 kanthal and have been happy. But like most vapers always wondered if something could be better. So I purchased an istick 50w and a goblin RTA to give this sub ohm vaping try. The goblin is dual coil build while the Hcigar is single coil. I use 26 kanthal on the goblin with the dual coils coming in at 0.5 ohms. My problem is I cannot find a wattage setting with this new setup that makes the vape not taste ....ty. I have tried 30w down to 8 watts and it is either too warm or no taste at all. Very frustrating! I decided to take the Hcigar which has much less airflow and put it on the istick and dialed it down to 10 watts and it tastes great! I guess sub ihm vaping is not for me. I really don't see how anyone can prefer it! If vaping does not have good flavor what is the point right? Am I doing something wrong? Is it just the Goblin that is the problem?

I have a goblin mini on my iStick 50. Not sure how close it is to the full size but I vape it between 30-35 watts and it seems pretty good to me, decent flavor and a slightly warm vape. My current build is 8 wraps of 26 gauge kanthal with a 2mm ID. My previous build that had a bit more flavor but slightly restricted airflow was 24 gauge kanthal 6 wraps with a 2.5mm ID. Neither of those builds tasted as good as my mutation x v4 or my old lemo drop, but it was still ok. I would play around with your coil and see what you come up with.

Goblin mini is a lot smaller than the Goblin. But, God!!!! You use too many watts!!!! I setup my GM with a thin wire, 5wraps 1.5ohm, single coil and 15W are my top! If I chain-vape, the atty gets hot!
The taste is good. The same with my Goliath V2, which is similar to Goblin. dual coil 0.5 ohm and no more than 26-27W.
with both atties the taste is very good.

Well the flavor has been improving, maybe the newer build, maybe I am just adjusting, been over a month since I have used anything other then a dripper, I dont know.
Anyway, when I vape that low I don't get the vape temp I want and the flavor goes down below 30 watts. The only tank I have had that I could vape that low was my subtank mini which was great at about 27.
