Hello,
My name is walid. I'm new in the forum.
Two days ago I bought an istick pico with melo iii mini tank with 0. 3 ohm coil .
I attached a foto of the battery that I am using.
I use the setting like in this foto:

d foto and I wont to now if is safe for subohm vaping.

I tried to use the EMOW Mega clear atomizer with 1.8 ohm coil. Is that setting like in the following Foto safe with istick pico and the battery which I use? I mean the Volt reading is OK?

Your vape should be fine at those settings and setups. For me, 20 watts is a little high for a 1.8 coil but with the battery you have you should be fine. I'd expect your fifty watt setting to go through batteries a bit faster, but with the battery you have (it looks authentic, but where did you get it?) you should still be fine at 50 watts, if you want to vape your lower resistance coil there.

Both wattage settings seem a little high to me, always best to start low and gradually work your way up until you find what you like.
If you've already determined those power setting are what you like best, use them.

It is near impossible to determine if a cell is authentic from pictures, if authentic that cell is a good 20a CDR meaning it can support up to 60w safely.

Hi,
Thanks for ur replay. Realy hight settings but they give me good vap and taste. You think is safer to lower the watt?

Well, you could either lower the wattage, or get a higher rated battery. When you push your battery to its limits, it can stress the battery leading to undesirable things, such as shortened battery life, stress on the battery and the mod, etc.

I have those Samsungs and the look authentic to me, but it's hard to say. If you like higher wattage, get a higher rated battery, perhaps one of the higher rated Sonys. I don't know where you can get "genuine" batteries in Germany but may want to ask on the EU forums, and see if someone can point you in the right direction.

I love my Samsung's run time but I rarely vape above 15 watts, and usually lower. I'd say for your needs, getting a battery that is more highly rated on Amps may be worth your while. You MAY sacrifice some run time (possibly not, if you are running the Samsungs at their higher limit) but I'd definitely say it would be safer. Adding in some "safety" room on wattage is never a bad idea on a regulated mod, so getting different batteries might be your best bet.

Good luck,

Anna

The watt settings you should use is determined by what you like best in vape quality.

There is no reason to trade one 20a CDR cell for another 20a CDR cell unless you're looking for more run time. (mah)
All true 20a CDR cells support the same watt ranges safely, up to 60w per cell.
The Samsung 30Q & Sony vtc6 are 15a CDR cells that can be pushed to 20a if cell temp is monitored and kept below 75c/80c.

The next logical step up in batteries would be 25a CDR cells,
Sony vtc5A (must be A)

WATTAGE PER SINGLE BATTERY:
20W-45W:
Samsung 18650 30Q, 3000 mah 15/20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC6 3000mAh 15/20 amp CDR
20W-60W:
LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20 amp CDR
LG 18650HE2 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Samsung 18650-25R, 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5, 2600 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC4, 2100 mah 23 amp CDR
AW 18650 3000 mah 20 amp CDR
30W - 75W:
LG 18650 HD4 2100 mah 25 amp CDR
LG 18650 HD2 2000 mah 25 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5A, 2500 mah 25 amp CDR
60W - 90W:
LG18650HB6 1500mah 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB2 1500mAh 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB4 1500mAh 30 amp CDR
In the interests of keeping things simple:
If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, your good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

If you use a 25 amp CDR battery like the Sony VTC5A, you are good for 75 watts in a single battery mod, 150 watts in a dual battery mod, and 225 watts in a 3 battery mod.

If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.

Hi Walid

I think that you find the answers for batteries well.

I can try to give contribution for health. While glycerin is being vaporization formaldehid is growing up. They measured 300-400ppm formaldehid during vaping at app. 20W but they also measures 12.000ppm formaldehid during 200W. At that moment they measured 600-800ppm at bus station in London.

As a result low wattages high safety.

Go vaping ;)
