I've been asking about this for weeks..still haven't got a good answer...my isub tank is not functioning properly it seems like.. I'm getting a lot of spitback, barely any vapour compared to what others are getting with it..and I keep getting nasty hits even tho my cotton is fully juiced!! After I take a pull, unless its less then literally 1.5 seconds it sizzles and just tastes like burnt wick and slightly metal like.. What is going on!!???

Mine did the same thing. I had to change the coil. I am using a Coolfire IV set to 15W for the particular juice I am using. I also get spit back but how much depends on the wattage. It is less at lower wattage. I am using the extra 1.8ohm coil that came with it. I did not get spitback with the 1.6ohm coil that was originally in it. Hope this helps.

i must have gotten two bad coils then, cause they both did the same thing..guess i'll order some new ones and hope they are good this time!! well, i'm looking for a new tank anyway.. any suggestions for the cool fire 4?

I bought 2 different types of tanks when I got mine. I really like the Nautilus but I am a mouth to lung vaper. It's my favorite between the iSub and the Nautilus. But that is because the iSub is designed more for direct lung vapers. I have found that to get more vapor from the iSub you have to have the air flow completely open. That is too much air for me as a mouth to lung vaper. :)

it tastes burnt, and metal like.. like the wick is dry, but its deff not. and yes, i primed it..

If it has been singed at any time it will react that way. I accidentally singed mine when learning how to use it for the first time. I thought it would be ok but it wasn't. If you KNOW you haven't singed it, then the only thing I can think of is to adjust the wattage until it changes. Also if the wicks are cotton, they might be packed too tight. I have heard that you can take a pin and gently push a hole in the wick but be sure not to disturb the coil. You might try that and see if it helps. The wicks can look primed but if they are packed too tight the juice may not be getting to the coils like it should.

Using 80 VG or even 70 is going to be thick and even if you think you primed the coil does not guarantee it is. The cotton is packed in there very tight, not to mention there is a fiber wrapping around the exterior of the wick.

Once you get that metallic burnt taste, the coil is no longer good, you will not recover it by adding more liquid thinking there was just enough to avoid a dry hit. Plain and simple, you burn the cotton, you just killed it.

Now how to avoid this. Get a new coil and use a needle to pull out and loosen the cotton around the ports, you can even push the needle completely through to the other port, just being careful to avoid hitting the vertical coil. Keep in mind that on 2 of the ports there will be a metal sleeve like that actually is a slot to hold the wick in place so you will not be able to work a needle in those 2.

Use the 50/50 for the priming. I actually just pour liquid into a tea cup and literally dump the entire coil in it to soak for a few minutes then wipe it off then shake it out like you need to get more ink into the tip to write.

These coils are notorious for popping, crackling and spitting and very little you can do to avoid it, however turning the power up to 30w and using a longer drip tip can help this issue.

Wow, what a great explanation. Thank you. :)
