In addition to cops, I'm also concerned with other drivers. Getting pulled over is a hassle regardless of the outcome and I don't really feel that it's my job to educate my local LE about my perfectly legal activities. So, I try to keep my vaping on the low while driving and especially while stopped at intersections to avoid having my tags called in by an overzealous concerned citizen. People generally fear what they don't understand so I just play it safe.

They let you go!? Geez, in backwardass Florida, the first word out of your mouth, the cops would have charged you with resisting arrest without violence, clubbed you senseless then let you sort it all out in front of a judge after spending a night or two in jail. And the judge would have, at the very least, found something to fine you for, especially if you were in a car with out-of-state plates. Revenue enhancement. You must be guilty of something!

And no self-respecting Florida cop would apologize for anything. Ever.

……smoking out of a weird long tube producing plumes of vapor.

There goes the lights.

Whoever turned on those lights has never seen someone smoking what he thought you were smoking. The smoke looks totally different.

I'm really not kidding.

(also, that's one more reason that I think stealth vaping is stupid)

i agree. my experience with fl cops was way over the top. those guys really need to chill the f out.

as far as the whole getting pulled over with ecigs goes, youd figure cops would gather at least a little bit of info about mods. but why would they do that when they can pull you over and waste your time, their time, and the towns tax money?

Silly War on Drugs... It's starting to affect us

its been affecting us all for a long time, regardless of if youre a user or not.

I was pulled over vaping on my Sin City Monster Can mod...

can't really blame the cop...someone sucking on a can blowing smoke...lol. However it was a simple explanation, especially after I showed him the inside workings and vaped a plume of rootbeer for him to smell. I haven't been pulled over while using my passthrough in the car yet but it is probably just a matter of time...

The cop was doing his job, but he sounds like a tool for not hearing you out. I'm sure they hear all sorts of excuses for drugs, but almost getting you in the back seat of the car and having to call a e-cig shop seems like it was taken a bit far.

It coulda been worse tho! Having to waste an afternoon in the drunk tank and having your car impounded for no reason. Then, I imagine that would be on your record somewhere that you had been in-processed into jail, even if you were released.

I always try to hide it when i see cops around just to avoid running into a tool like that, then I start feeling like I am acting suspicious and thinking hes watching me. lol good times!

edit: Imagine if there were some sort of poppy seed flavoring in your juice. I don't know if that rumor is true but like that Seinfeld episode where Elaine came up hot on a drug test for eating a bunch of poppy seed muffins lol Cop does his test and finds opiates in it... hah

Being retired and having more than enough time to be 'hassled', I'm quite the opposite of you. Stop lights are one of the few grand public opportunities for me to 'show off' (aka play Mt. Vesuvius)!

Besides, I'd consider a 'stop' as an educational encounter, for the LEO...

that sucks. at least he was nice enough to listen to you and eventually let you go. we need to educate the public better to help stop events like this from happening

Well they all think it is a drug device and not an electronic cigarette,
It is their job to make sure nobody's smoking [Disappearing Illicit Drug Reference] and gonna endanger the people.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Y'ALL.
