And they will continue to get better, the more you settle in. It is definitely my go to device.
You can do either but if you set watts, it will change the volts for you if you put on a different ohm coil.
The problem with any variable wattage output is it depends on how the device "reads" the coil. A fluxuation of as little as .1 ohm can really make a difference on the calculated voltage. Also you need to take into account how the device rounds up or rounds down. When pbusardo does his calculations, he does his calculations on his "lazybox" which has set ohm resistances in them. If the MVP misreads them +/- .1 ohm, then the calculation will be off.
Now, most of the issues in Pbusardo's video regarding the MVP2, I find, deals with running into device limitations on low ohm coils.
Realize that the minimum the MVP 2 can adjust it's voltage is 3.3 volts. If the wattage calculation requires less than 3.3 volts to set it's desired wattage, then the device will simply fire 3.3 volts and over fire the coil.
The device really has a sweet spot of 1.5 to 3.0 ohms. If you go any lower you will get into some limitations in the voltage regulator circuit.
I normally use 2.0 to 2.5 ohm coils on my Kayfun and vape between 8.0 and 9.0 watts and have no issues whatsoever.
Help!
My MVP was down to 3.8 and I put it on the Innokin cable to a lighter adapter in the van. The green light came on and after a while the MVP was warm. After hours I pushed the buttons and it showed 4.0 and it was cool. Hours later it was still cold and 4.0. I came home and plugged it into a wall wart on another cable and after an hour it is still cold and 3.9. Is something wrong?
You probably have but...have you turned your mvp completely off? Maybe it needs a "reboot" of sorts?I think something is wrong. Still showing 3.9. [cry]
Inferno, I started with evods and still occasionally use one on the MVP. Set your volts low 3.3 and work up until you find the sweet spot.
Thank you for the help!
I am starting to see why you guys bragged so much on your MVP2's. I am getting some wonderful Vapes and much more taste. I have to say, I am very happy I went with the MVP2!
I got my SM Kayfun Lite yesterday and tried it on my MVP. It's a really nice device and all, works great on my MVP but.. Call me crazy but I think I'll stick to my evods and mini protanks. Kayfun hits better (but has a smoother vape), has a bit more flavor but is a heavy ....... with akward filling tiny hole, 510 threading which just waits to strip my MVP's threads and it whistles a bit. I still didn't do a perfect setup but I managed to do a solid 8 figure 2 ohm silica setup. I can power it a lot harder than my protank without burnt taste but it's not IMO all THAT better vape than what I get with my rebuilt evod/protank coils. I tried MC cotton too but it doesn't do much for me. Should I give Kayfun more chance or just go back to my tried and true ego threaded devices? Dayum I hate that 510 lol.
