I've had my MVP for a couple months now and it's so good. The only problem is the ohms suddenly jump around while on it. Like earlier I was taking a draw off of it and it suddenly cut off. I checked the ohms on the built in and it read .9 from 1.9. I fiddled with it a few minutes, turned it off and on and it jumped to 3.4 ohm. Fiddled again and it was back to 1.9 and working fine.

Also check to see if you have any moisture on the 510 connection on the MVP.

I looked at those also

Try and find a replacement coil for it...

or just a pic of one

I hadn't seen that before. Must be fairly new on FT. I wouldn't touch that thing even if you could find coils. You have to completely invert it to try to wet the little wicks.

All these clearo concerns will be fairly met with a little device I call "The Flavor Enhancer"

A Kayfun is the perfect partner for the MVP, IMHO

It transforms the vaping experience to, shall I say, intimate levels.

vaping becomes more of an Etherial, or might I say, existential experience.

He'll, just get one and watch a few YouTube videos like I did. Game Changer!

BTW, I have learned 90%of my vaping knowledge from this thread =)

:2c:
and from the other side of the spectrum (maybe my past)

putting my whole vaping world in perspective...

trying to give my cherished Innokin gear a break
and get some use out of my older stuff...

I am sitting here now using an old $15-1100mah-ego-twist
with a $3 bcc tank and very impressed the way it is 'rockin' !
2.0Ω cotton coil-DIY 23mg-25/75% blu-bacco juice @ 4.0v
good flavor, nice TH, thick small clouds

though, I do miss the simple sophistication of my iClear stuff

i'm a fan of the blu-bacco myself....also use my Triton & Spinner VV's with my old Triton clero's, still kickin

Yet Sando and I are "Vape Brothers" from my recent shared love of DRIPPING!

I keep having game changing moments in vaping.

Damn this new Hobby ;)

the lower the resistance you use on your Mec the more air you need to cool your vape a bit, using a longer drip-tip will help some...also position your airhole directly in front of your coil and make sure the coil is the same height as the airhole....

been playing with my set-up and i'm mixing silica w/cotton using a helios which has a deep well and i can drip for 10 hits or so before redripping.. ..

when using the MVP to drip at a higher resistance is also satisfying once you dial it in...i'm learning, enjoy!

i got vape-mail at the Post Office now, gotta get up there!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, this is interesting

what-how-why would someone do this and does it work / have any effect ? (please elaborate)

I say this from my experiences of maybe cotton (which I just about use exclusively) not being
substantial enuff for all types of vaping

BUT I'M JUST NOT SURE ENUFF YET, still converting most/many of my coils to cotton
70-100% VG, thick dark juice needing higher power--finding out maybe cotton not pulling it's load

but like I said, not enuff `lip-time` to reach a final hypothesis

When I first vaped in 2010, I wanted something that replaced cigs. Getting up in the morning, even with heavy tobacco flavored 36mg juice, nothing did the same as half a pack of smokes before I left for work. I vaped during the day and smoked a little bit. Got tired of the fuss and leaks and decided to cold turkey. Lasted 6 months. Wife was vaping and smoking and I caved in when life took a turn. Right back to 2PAD in no time. Wife gave up vaping some time later.
This time I realized that there is nothing that is the same as smoking a cig. Vaping is alternative nicotine replacement therapy. It gives your hands and mouth something to do. I inhale and exhale the vapor just like I did cig smoke. A month of a couple of cigs a day and finally quit the sticks. I vape all I want and don't feel any guilt. I found some tobacco flavors that got me through the beginning and as my taste changed, I changed flavors.
The big thing for me this time besides the attitude was the difference in equipment. It is so much better and easier now. 4 years from now it might be more amazing. Even cheap ego starter kits are better than the blue foam cigalikes we used to use.
I have worked on my own cars and built my own computers so tinkering and learning new things is a hobby for me. E junk fits right in. I am DIY juice, recoiling atomizers, getting into RDA and RBA, plan to make some wooden stands from scraps. I'd like to make a box mod some day too.
Good luck to you and your hubby. With the right stuff and right attitude, you can do it.

so I went and wrote this then come to find Paul had stolen it and posted it :sneaky:

all kiddin' aside this hits Very Close to home -- this is the Life Song I normally sing

glad Paul wrote it, and I was pleased to read it

and also cognizant of "With the right stuff and right attitude, you can do it"

using Cotton only and was getting hot-spots & dry hits after a short while, now let me explain i was spreading and fluffing my cotton almost until it was see-thru...kept getting frustrated using a deep-well RDA and having to re-drip every 3 min when the cotton still looked saturated.....had tried Silica alone and loved the way it wicked but hated the taste.....and the cotton tastes great but doesn't wick as good as the silica.....so i got the idea to combine both....
1. fluffed and spread out my cotton segment till you could read a newspaper thru it.
2. cut a piece of 2mm silica of the same length and wrapped the silica inside the cotton and wicked my Coils.....after wicking i also added some small fluffed out pieces of cotton between the wick on the long sides to help with wicking still keeping an air channel between the posts on both sides of the deck...now i can drip 10 drops or more at a time and everything stays wicked and wet and i can vape for quite awhile before re-dripping.
using a Stillare RDA w/dual coils, 28ga wrapped 8 times on a 3/32 bit & came out at .76....running the airflow about 3/4 the way open....anyhow no more hot-spots or dry-hits and so far been working great.
now i have the taste of cotton and the wicking of silica...perfect combo imo.
also had the idea to unravel some silica and just use a couple of strands in the same manner, but it ain't broke so fixing is not necessary yet.

all my DIY Jooze is at least 50/50 or even a bit more on the VG side.

don't see why this set-up wouldn't work at higher resistance's also, give it a try you might like it.

just got my Infinite Stillare and it's the best deep well RDA i have to date, the airflow control is awesome on this device, also the Helios isn't shabby either.

I can dig it man, and for the same reasons you stated
I'm about to try something similar...

looks as though you simulated this stuff
- Genuine Ekowool Braided Silica Core Wick (SCN) - Lightning Vapes

And if non of that works, it is is probably that pesky contact pin.

This is my best guess on what's wrong with it, thankfully have a backup vap on the way in the shape of a hammer (And a new top for the MVP in the shape of a Kayfun. :D ) so I have something to use while I try to fix this little problem.
