The Russian showed up today (20 days). It came with quite a few spare parts, o rings, screws, etc. The only drip tips small enough to fit are the ones that came with the cheapo FT carto tanks. I don't like the feel of the metal ones. Built a quick 2 ohm coil with cotton ball wicking, happily vaping away at 10 watts. I'm a carto tank kind of guy so next time I'll do the vertical coil thing ManBearPig was kind enough post pictures of.

Nice and congrats! If you have any issues building the vertical coil, don't hesitate to ask. I'm still enjoying my vertical coils builds but I really want to try using that twisted wire that I made so I might experiment a little this weekend

Uncle Arthur visits me regularly (see the pinky in my avitar pict,) but I can get one made. My problem now is I can't see that dang little wire!

I use a sewing needle to support the wick while wrapping. Even a jewelers screw driver is quite a bit bigger in diameter than a needle. This could make the wrap a little looser. Also, bigger wire = less wraps and easier to see/work with.

Best of luck and keep us informed!
Capt. The bigger the wire the more wraps to achieve the same resistance as smaller wire. Also as you know the higher # of gauge of the wire = smaller diameter of wire.
Example Coil wrapped on 1.5 mm id something 32 ga.wire target resistance 1.5 ohm needs 4.7 wraps. Vs 28 ga.needs 11.7 wraps.
Just sayin. :):2c: Link Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

You are correct, I wrote that all wrong didn't I. I'll try again.

The bigger the gauge wire the fewer wraps you have to make and the easier the coil is to work with.

I think that makes a little more sense :)

I started with 28 guage but went up to 30 guage and the coils fit better and are lot easier to get in position between the post. 5 wraps with 30 gauge gets me around 1.8 ohm.

Thanks! I'm not too bright so I'm pretty sure when I saw your vertical coil surrounded by wicking pics my mouth was hanging open thinking: "It's a rebuildable carto, with a tank!"

just got my Oak Energy in yesterday!!!! Loving the 16s tank compared to the leak machine 30! the on off switch on the bottom to use with components is set more inside of the unit than my other one that i had to 'tuck' in, in order to get it to stand flat. i think they improved the power switch, or maybe it is because it is new, but it all seems so much 'smoother' than my original silver, which i gave to my daughter last night, including a new wooden stand i build especially for them when they are charging or whatever. they really did a great job on this one, especially since the 'color' is in the metal and not just a wrap.

think i will get another 2 in the next 6 months just to keep in case any of these 'special purpose battery' bans go into effect.

I just had mine a few days ago. Agree with the bottom! I was expecting it to be wobbly based on many reviews when standing but no problem at all! The on/off switch seems to be flushed in.

and oh, you should give the iclear 30b a try plus a bag of extra coil heads. It works really well for me. Just make sure the airflow at the 510 connection is align with the hole of the coil head and it's good to go.

Cheers!

that Russian is definitely on my list, seen one at Angel-cigs.....most of my DIY jooze starts out clear and starts getting color in about 3 weeks or so and some stays clear (believe it's the Nic that changes color, IDK for sure).....I always try to stay away from colored concentrates.

edit, man i'm glad the website is back to normal.....got my Vape-Mail today, i walked up to the PO, it was a nice walk for an old Man...my heart was pumping...it was worth it tho!

anyone with a 26650 mod, H-Cigar has a mega dripper RDA now, it's 28mm in diameter...if ya want a look-see go over to VividSmoke...i wonder what it would look like on the MVP

Finally getting caught upon this thread! Yesterday, ECF was almost unusable for me. :(

I must say, as much as I love my Maraxus and Nemesis clones, my MVP is still my go to mod. Much easier to push the vape button, and the battery life is wonderful compared to them. Will definitely need to get a spare MVP!

Yeah, I'm thinking a may have to pick up a spare and a spare V3 since my device have a bad habit of needing a recharge on the same day. However, I gotta wait to save up some more before I can justify more vape spending--and I have a few other things on my list that have higher precedence.

Looks to me like you have $152.83 to spend.

Naw, that was spent on the first MVP, the V3, a PT3 Mini, an Aerotank, and a whole lotta juice.... actually, I think all that adds up to more than $152... I'm waiting to get to $200 before the next purchase. Willpower...!....?
