sounds like something I'd say just to get ya started/familiar with using the/a vv-vw device
the ole` rule of thumb (add 2.0 to your Ω ohms) is what 8.0w, does automatically ;) (much funner on VVv3 7.5-8.0-8.5)

haha, I'm with you (one of the reasons I don't prefer the kayfun)
I like to fool with and be able to change EVERYTHING on the fly... :D

Tastes do change. Search, I started a thread about the Kayfun fad. But two days ago, fiddling with it I hit an excellent build and I've been vaping it nonstop, refilling it constantly. It was an airflow problem (3.1) I lost the screw and the too airy draw left me wanting for more. It's true what it's said about the build. Maybe next one will be crap and I'll be going back to my BCC. But meanwhile I'm saving on supplies, that means a lot here!

So, do yourself a favor... fiddle a little with it before the thumbs down.

I absolutely understand! I have friends just like you, and I celebrate and enjoy our differences. Wouldn't it be a boring world if we were all alike?:)

PS I am only this way about things like vaping, and the route I take to the grocery store. Oh, and how my furniture is arranged.
I actually have a very liberal, open mind about lots of things, and love new ideas and thoughts.

vaping, grocery store, furniture arranged

"what else is there" ??? :D

BVC:

the coils are positioned “up-n-down” (not sideways)
there is only one (single) coil
there is NO WICK inside the wire
the outside is wrapped in, what I read, a ceramic fiber ??
so it mimics a cartomizer
only how to I’ve seen was a dude rebuilt it going UP thru bottom
(guess ya can’t get top off) (YET)

Thing is, you can refill this with rayon (the celulose kind) I find that safer to use than cotton. I took a look inside the head but it might be easy to salvage the coil, simply pull up the net and the filler, keep the coil, refill with rayon.

After today I'm going to say "Never say never"

HEY! LET ME WRITE AND CORRECT MYSELF!!!

I think you've missed MY POINT

my kayfun works great

lots of vapor, good flavor, never a leak

BUT

it is big heavy, flavor is not over the top as many said
once it is assembled there is no messin with it

my point is I get as good (if not better) enjoyment from my
high performance DIY bcc's

JMO
:D

ps: I built it o so many ways
28ga 30ga 32ga
1/16 3/64 5/64 mandrels
1.6-1.8-2.2Ω
spread out and touching tight wraps
air cracked, screw removed

I put some time in
it's just not like walking in tall cotton to me...
:)

Big guess... and what if Rip was wrong and it's cellulose? We can only find out using them.

Here is Aspire's statement regarding the construction of the filler material of the BVC heads:

Aspire - News - The Safety of our BVC Coils

Over the past few months, the subject of our Bottom Vertical Coils has become a growing topic of interest among our customer community. Specifically, the questions of “what is the material that you use in the construction of your BVC coils?” or “are they healthy to the user?”, have been asked numerous times. So here for the benefit of all, is the low down on our BVC coils.

We use a ceramic fiber which is placed around the heating coil during its construction, which has undergone and passed rigorous SGS certification, and is both nontoxic and heat resistant. This ceramic material is, of course, exclusively researched and developed by the Aspire Company, and is only accessible by our manufacturing company, Shenzhen Eigate Technology Co., Ltd.

We at Aspire value our customer’s safety and concern, and welcome these questions to help assure you of our levels of safety and consideration. But, although we work hard to guarantee the safety of our products, we cannot guarantee the quality or indeed the safety of the many counterfeit companies who work to imitate our products and materials. Because of this, BVC coils obtained from fake/non-authentic suppliers/manufacturers may be toxic and/or may not be able to endure the high temperatures of the original. So we urge you to please buy smart and buy safe, keep authentic and stay healthy.

Thank you. Well there you go. In all my reading I missed this.

I thought you had to set both and they worked together.

I know this is subjective but what do most seem to prefer. Volts or Watts?

hey ausguitarman

so did ya get it worked out ?

also `ole rule of thumb

to get ya in the 'ballpark' (for volts) add 2.0 to your Ω (ohms)
(1.8Ω+2.0=3.8v / 2.5Ω+2.0=4.5v)

that should be a safe start point (maybe a few more for dual coil)

then you can use one of these to convert volts to watts
- https://www.watlow.com/reference/tools/ohmslaw.cfm

volts is volts (straight output)
watts will keep you in your desired heat/temp range automatically

again Suza, you're steering away from what I am saying

we'll give them that it is ceramic filler

my point is :

if it is CERAMIC (unburnable)

why not be able to dry burn it for a long long time
to keep it at peak performance

that's what I was saying
not questioning if material IS ceramic or not

would be pretty awesome to keep it clean

:)

This seems like it needs to be tested by a user....

YES. I have to have one to try first. I don't like the reports of short head life, that would be disastrous.
Still, watching video reviews made me remember my hatred for filler...

The epic MVP2 thread is nearing it's date with destiny and the 15,000 post thread lock.:(

They don't get used much anymore but my MVPs will always have fond place in my heart!

You say! The girls have several MVPs going and people are still buying them. Truth is that I'll move to a Vaporshark whenever I have the chance. But I will use it until it dies and even after!

One thing that I love from the MVP, and I think no one mentioned it, is the multiple connector cable. I take it with me in the car and enables me to charge everything in my arsenal, even my iPhone. I hope when I switch to the iPhone 4 they make a new one with the new connector. AND some kind of ring to carry it as a lanyard as they did with the CLK!

Wait...What?? I've not heard this.. Might you spare a link?

so did Suza fix ya up ?

(not sure what the "Q" was ?)

:)

clone T3S are diff than authentic T3S

for some reason Kangers T3S has an added "lip" inside

- - -

(and I'm speaking beyond my knowledge)

but is it Kangers first bottom coil was the MT3 / T3
no changeable coil, you threw the WHOLE BASE away

THEN EVOD came out
and the Kanger bottom coil (bcc) phenomenon began ?

then kanger added/came up with the "S" MT3S / T3S (separable)

but failed to remove the "lip" inside the T3 tanks ?

all other following kanger bcc never had that lip

here is an example that I would like an explanation to ??????

what is the TOP O-RING (on this base and other kangers) actually for ?????

*the bottom o-ring seals the "tank-to-base"
*the "silicone cup" seals air tube

with lip & top o-ring
- $17.60 Authentic T3S Bottom Coil Clearomizers (2.4mL / 5-Pack) 5-pack - 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

without lip & top o-ring
- $17.60 Authentic T3S Bottom Coil Clearomizers (2.4mL / 5-Pack) 5-pack - 2.2ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

curious minds wanna know

GrimmGreen and IndoorSmokers both say the Nautilus with BVC's has replaced their Kayfuns for daily use.

I wouldn't go that far.

First: I wouldn't spend 50 bucks on a tank, although I know they've gone down
Second: Not everyone likes cartomizers for the hatred of fillers. These might not burn but taste must cling to them
Third: Hard to wash to change flavors.
Fourth: Head life. Report as little as a week per head

Don't generalize. It hurts everone.
