Received my MVP yesterday in the mail and thought I would say hi to everyone and that I'm happy to have joined the MVP Club!

This device is so much smaller and lighter than I had thought it would be! it is absolutely perfect for everything i wanted it for (portability, on-the-go vaping while at work or in the car, and be able to fit nicely in my suit jacket), and a backup for my eVic Supreme.

Here she is with a Kanger Aerotank Mini!

How you like that Aero Mini?

Hidee-ho Kerister. Rebuilt my kf lite clone last night with 28g to about 1.3 ohms. Fighting burning/dry hits? Trying everything from 7-11W, and can't get more than one hit in. Have a lovely honeydew flavor (when it's not burning ) Gonna go drain the tank and see wth is going on :(

Thats because @ 1.3 ohms you are hitting the lower limit of what the MVP can regulate down too.. You might see 7w on the display, but its actually at 8.4w. Remember, the MVP can only go down to 3.3v regardless of the ohms or settings.

1.8-2ohms is the 'sweet spot' for the MVP to be able to regulate up and down the scale.

is it vapor-locked ??

did ya try, no power, holding your finger over air intake hole, then sucking
and then qwikly watch to see the air bubbles rise, indicating wick saturation...

worth a try before ya tear it down (only thing would be flooding out airhole)

:)

Once cottons burnt, you have to rewick... :(

Ya, opened up the chimney, and only 1/2 the wick was in the coil. Other half was stuck to the sidewall. Used a longer, slightly thicker piece on this 2nd try, and made sure everything was tucked in like a little baby. Loaded up about 1/2 tank of juice, and all is well again. I know, 1.3 is pretty low, and most of my other coils are 1.8-1.9ohms (and for EVODs are pretty doggone amazing.) Just had some 28g wire I can't do much else with (at this time) so I thought I'd try. It was still about 10-11 wraps on a 1/16" drill bit. Like my 30g better.

Would a 12 wrap coil (28 ga kanthal) do it?

That would give you around 2 ohms with an ID of 2.25mm, roughly.
Have a look at Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

IMHO that's a little bit high of a resistance.
But try different coils at different wattage or voltage settings and see what you like.

New to rebuilding, forgive my ignorance.

We all were once.
Better to ask here and be safe.

ps- You really need a meter if you plan to wrap coils regularly even thought the MVP's onboard one is pretty good.

Was 84 here... NW Indiana

Paul, Fort Wayne. Lived in IN almost my whole life, and never been to French Lick.... Sad, I know.

I built condo's in Fort Wayne 30 years ago and lived up north of there on Hamilton lake just bellow Angola.

I wonder if the Mad Dog Saloon is standing in Angola?

Been reading some pages, but I have a question regardless. What ohm range should I be at using a kf lite plus clone for an mvp 2? Would a 12 wrap coil (28 ga kanthal) do it? New to rebuilding, forgive my ignorance.

Grenade, I just wrapped about 11 wraps of 28g wire last night on a 1/16" bit. Landed about 1.3 ohms. Wrap my kanger heads with 30g (about 8-9 wraps; lands about 1.8-1.9 ohms.) The 28g build in my KFL (clone) seems pretty happy - was about 3.7V (played with 9.0W just to see if I could notice any difference.) The 28g takes a bit to heat up (but earlier posts of mine indicated that I very readily torched my cotton wick - LOL) I hear others go a little lower, but I'd prefer not to. I like the 1.6-2.0 range on mine - YMMV

Have you been getting the crazy storms and weather like here where we're starting the day at 60 foggy then a storm and going up to the 90s after the storm. Crazy. I like the heat just not the humidity.

Yep.. In fact just the other day I had to clear a fallen tree from the night before's sudden storm.. and I was already late

I feel like I'm in Florida.. :)

Do the same # of wraps on a 5/64 or 2mm bit... or, like I use, a toothpick which is 2mm :) Should come out to 1.8ohms..
