Hi All! I am new to vaping and feel like I am already hooked! Last week I went to a local vape store to get started and purchased a starter kit which included the pen style ecig. I already dropped one and left a small crack in the tank so I went to a different vape store. I ended up purchasing the itaste MVP do to the owners recommendation. I was expecting an even better vaping experience do to a better product. I was very surprised to find that I can barely taste the ejuice flavor, compared to the taste I get fron the pen style, using the same flavors. I also felt like I was getting a metallic taste in my mouth from the mouth piece. Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything I can do to get a stronger flavor? Any recommendations would be appreciated!

the iTaste MVP is just a power source, it really depends on the delivery system you are using

i know it comes with two clearos, i've found those to be average, nothing great etc..what you can do is remove that little silicone rubber cap on the head, make a few small cuts where it meets up with the wicks...this will allow addiitional wicking

Alternatively, you could buy say...a DCT tank, a vivi nova, regular polyfill cartos, a different brand of clearo (i like vision's brand) or try out dripping

the MVP itself is a great device and power source, you need to figure out what you like in terms of the delivery system

Lots of unknowns here...

The power source - i.e. the battery / MVP will have nothing to do with a meatllic taste. That's entirely due to the juice holder.

If you have very little flavor, you may be vaping at too low a voltage. The MVP is a VV - Variable Voltage - power source. Press either button down by the screen. After it shows the puff count it will change to the set voltage. Then use the buttons to raise or lower it. Make a change of, say, 0.2, and vape. Keep doing this until the vape starts to taste bad / burned / too hot, then back it down the last amount raised.

The topper - holds the juice and heating coil - can be any of a variety of devices. Not knowing what you have, it's hard to make any suggestions. However, since you're starting out, I'd suggest you stay with a clearo of some sort until you get comfortable with the hardware and techniques of vaping. The Evod is a bottom coil clearo that performs well. The CE5 types and the Vivi Nova are top coil devices that - at the same voltage and resistance - give a slightly warmer vape. Of course, I can't say what you like, but it's not unreasonable to get one of each and see.

I always clean my clearos before first use. There is often some residue from manufacturing that can alter the taste for up to the first tankful...

Thanks everyone for the help. I am just using the tank that came with the itaste, I did see the shop had other replacement tanks, so maybe they would work better. Sorry I really dont know all of the correct terminology for the pieces yet! The pen style one I believe is an ego. There is no way to adjust the battery voltage on it. I have tried adjusting the voltage on the itaste, but honestly dont know what that is suppose to do! I am using this to quit smoking, so I am thinking my taste may be a little off after smoking for 10 years. I am looking for a strong flavor when vaping, I think that may help with not snacking when trying to quit smoking.

We were all new once, don't sweat it. It's just a learning curve thing.

The general consensus here is you probably just need a different juice system. You seem to have like whatever was on your "pen-style" e-cig. Tell us how you went about filling that and we can get you something like that thing to fit ontop your new MVP.

Was it like dripping into some polyfill batting? or was the juice holder clear?

When you raise the voltage on the MVP it's supposed to heat the coils up a bit more and thus provide more vapor.

You also don't say what type of juice you are using. We need to know how many milligrams of nic you are using now. You might need to bump up to a higher level. Pg/vg ratio on your juice would also help us steer you in the right direction.
