I have already experienced the "burnt" taste and figured out how to avoid it.
My issue is I sometimes get a nasty oily/waxy aftertaste, could this be from a particular ejuice or incorrect vaping? I also notice I get actual juice sometimes and not just vapor. The two issues don't always go hand in hand, and are not always happening together. Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks
J

The SVD is the mod, the important part of the equation here is really the atomizer, so what are you using attached to your SVD that you put juice in?

Any after taste could very well be caused by juice.

What juice have you been vaping?

I have used captain ejuice, full moon fog ( made local ), and mad vapes ( also local ).

I am currently using the stock clearomizer that came with the svd ( Iclear 30 ? )

The worst juice for the oily taste was the mad vapes, but all have given me the juice effect.

I'm not sure what the VG content is on any of these. I guess I need to start asking.

If you're getting juice from a b&m that mixes juices at the b&m then ask them what brand(s) of flavoring they are using. Some flavorings can use oils that are no good for vaping, and from my experience with a couple that contained oils they can leave a nasty film type of feel.

juice with a high VG to PG ratio (would be very very thick juice) can also give that sort of feeling..

as a guy that does diy I find it hard to vape any juice i don't know everything about... but that may just be me.

Burnt taste from the Iclear30 is generally caused by insufficient juice on the wicks - rotate the tank such that the wicks are in the juice periodically

My issue is I sometimes get a nasty oily/waxy aftertaste, could this be from a particular ejuice or incorrect vaping?

Using the same tank, without proper cleaning, for multiple juices can result in some pretty bizarre flavors - clean the tank and atomizer

I also notice I get actual juice sometimes and not just vapor.

Flooding can cause juice in the mouth, gurgling, decreased flavor and vapor production - To correct this issue Remove the tank from your mod, wrap the tank in a paper towel/tissue, blow through the drip tip. Juice should be ejected from the base of the tank. Two or three blows may be required to completely clear the flooded condition.
To prevent this issue - Long slow draws, increase voltage or wattage
If this problem persists - Replace the atomizer head (coil)

The two issues don't always go hand in hand, and are not always happening together. Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks
J

Hope this helps.
