Both the SVD and MVP2 are very good products for what they cost. You can google everything and find stories of broken ones. https://www.google.com/#q=zmax+broken That is fairly irrelevant for these now somehow 3 devices.

OP - You will be happy with any of the 3. If you use proper batteries and treat them well you will get your money out of any of them.

So look at the features, size and design - Pick what *YOU* want :). SVD is pretty big, I will post a photo of mine in "small" all the way down with an 18350 next to my MVP for you. I adore both devices - if I were forced to choose I would pick my MVP2.

Good luck on your hunt :) 20140202_184937.jpg

I have them both. Both very nice mods. My SVD doesn't work very well anymore, but that's my fault. It has side buttons, I dropped it so many times now one side button no longer works right. I myself would rather carry and switch batteries. To me it's worth the trade off of throwing away a mod because it can no longer be charged. But that's personal preference. Both nice choices so you really can't go wrong.

I've fired a 1 Ohm RSST build on my SVD before but I mostly vape around 1.2-1.8 Ohm myself. If I want sub Ohm I always use a mech.

the black zmax finish will tarnish from holding it and the finish will wear off. Some people like it, some don't kinda like brass.

it will read your output voltage, battery voltage and cartomizer / atomizer resistance. you will have to learn how to also use a 1 button mod, which can be a pain at first.

I love the MVP 2! I have 2 and they're perfect with 19 mm carto tanks from IBTanked. I have a long commute to work and back, so I needed a fiddle free set up. Bonus points for being able to charge my phone on the commute. For the price you can get an MVP at, I highly suggest it. I vape at around 8 watts, and a lot of people are happy at that setting. I think the MVP is perfect for those taking the next step from egos.

the MVP2 is only VV @ 3-5v and VW @ 6-11w, the SVD is VV to 3-6v and VW from 3-15w. The SVD can check ohms also.

The MVP is good for stealth and it also has a built in 2600mah battery which is nice. The SVD in 18350 mode really isn't that huge but it is a decent height with a tank installed.

Really it comes down to wanting something small and form fitting or a stink mod that can do much more then the box mod.

Both are really good and you can't go wrong with either.

Batteries are hit or miss from FT some people get them, some get stopped at customs.

Can't the mvp2 check ohms as well?

Had SVD, returned it because it misfired from day one. It has a horrible design flaw - cheap micro tact switch on the PCB, worse than any VV/VW mod. Expected switch failure is very high, it can even be dent on the PCB from simply using it. Now I ordered an MVP 2.0 because from all the research I've done, it's one of the best buy mods on the market with amazing battery life. If you don't need to go above 5V, I'd suggest MVP 2.0.

I really like the MVP 2. IMO it's a product that could easily carry a much higher price and still be worth it.

On the other hand I have NOTHING good to say about the SVD. It's the one Innokin product I think they should discontinue producing. At the very least it needs a major redesign to fix the many serious flaws it has.

The MVP is a solid middle of the road mod at one of the cheapest price points. Fantastic deal for the money.

The SVD is a cheap, poorly designed, poorly assembled mess at a high price. I can think of at least a half dozen other mods in the same price range that I would recommend before the SVD. If you want a tube mod like the SVD, save the money and buy a ZMax instead.

Interesting...I like my SVD due to the quality/cost no issues with mine.
What is wrong with your SVD that sways you to say it is "a cheap, poorly designed, poorly assembled mess at a high price."

My :2c:...

The MVP is a paper weight when the battery no longer takes a charge. This could be a year, this could be 10 years. Depends on how you personally use it. The SVD, if the battery used stops working, I can just get a new battery. They are both decent middle of the road devices. I don't care for box style mods, but I have a VTR as well that is pretty good for me. The SVD flush mounts toppers, so adds a bit of stability to the 510 connection from being broken from a small drop or bump. The MVP does not so the topper is only supported by the 510 connection if no plinth is used.

Personally, and not just because I have one, I would go SVD based only only battery swapping. Now with that all being said, My SVD is only about a week old and has started shutting itself off for no reason other then it feels like it. Not all the time, but enough that I am back using my Vamo V5 mainly and it is now a backup.

The 3 click turn off is the issue with it "turning its self off" when vaping in rapid mode the 3 clicks required to turn off is spread out over a rather "long" period of time ( about 2-3 seconds) so it is somewhat easy to turn off the SVD when vaping in quick sucsession...

I got my MVP 2.0 Energy this past Monday and love it! I ordered it from Vaping Town on ebay late Friday evening and received it in the mail on Monday (super fast shipping) 42.99 shipped

This. I just got my 2nd MVP (as well as a VV) from Vaping Town. Their prices and customer service are STELLAR. I haven't run an SVD so I can't speak to any comparison, but I've been totally happy with my MVPs and VVs. Never had a bad Innokin product yet.

It's not chain vaping turning mine off. It can be picked up from my desk, not been touched for an hour, push the button to fire, and bam... three blinks and off. Could be firing, and in the middle of a drag, and bam... just shuts off. I just got a bad one, that's all. I could have returned it for a refund or an exchange, but I didn't feel like wasting more money on return shipping. My Vamo and my VTR work flawlessly, so I just put on the desk as backup. No Biggie to me really.

My vote goes for the MVP2 more or less because I have a bias against telescoping devices(most of them) to me they are just annoying.
Mvp2
2600mah battery (2+ days w/o charge)
Resistance reader
VV/VW
Puff counter (if you care)
Good screen
Button is raised and easy to press
Connection is great on it
Small, compact design.
