iTaste SVD removing bottom cap spring pin?

Hey folks.

Has anyone taken apart the bottom cap of their SVD? I'm looking to remove the delrin piece holding the spring loaded pin. I'd like to remove it all together and just use a standard hotspring in there. It seems to be press fitted into place, but I'm sure it's removable. The spring under the connection seems very, very stiff for my liking and I really don't like screwing it together all the way, in fear that I'll dent the bottom of my batteries or ruin the connection on top. If anyone has an easy way to remove the delrin without damaging anything I'd like to know. Thank you.
