A few years ago I painted my motorcycle, a Suzuki Boulevard M109R, 1800cc V-Twin, I spent a good penny on the House of Kolor Kandy, but I was so eager, I rushed the sanding/blocking/filler and the end result was an VERY uneven paintjob. I had to re-strip the whole bike.
As some of you know, I recently purchased the Tobeco Super tank, and mentioned how bummed I was at how badly it leaked whenever I filled it passed halfway. Tonight, I tore it apart, was EXTRA careful in rebuilding it, filled it and... Leaks.
I then re-visited some videos on this tank, it turns out, I left the vent holes OPEN when I filled it, they should be closed. SO, back at it again, this time as recommended and ..... NO LEAKS
Also my wicks were a little too long. So, its the little things, like a marriage you know, a marriage can get passed the BIG stuff, but the little things, those will end it every time. In closing, I didn't give this tank enough credit at first, and due to my inexperience when it comes to wicking, I thought it was a junk tank. Not so, it was all due to my ineptitude.
Live and Learn and i'm all the wiser for it.
