My atty is working then not working, working then not working... I would think if it was dead with no hope it would not work at all? Any input would be great!

put a dot on the atty or batty center pole with a marker and thread it in and see if it smears onto the other for connection..........some models have charger that press the center atty pole in so connection is no longer there.....if this is the case you carefully pry it out with a paper clip or do the staple mod
when you say dead? what do you mean... not heating up? or what? If its not heating up it could be a bad connection to the bat. which would mean i wouldnt heat up. a lose connection would mean on off on off depending on how it settles.
Make sure your connection between the battery and atty are dry. Take a can of compressed air and blow the atty out. It might help. Not all electronics simply stop working outright. Then again, maybe it's not even your atty. Perhaps your battery has a short.
