I used a macbook for 5 years and, for my purposes - recording and editing sound files - it was fantastic. ANYTHING but Windows is my creed to this day. However - Apple has some things about it I despise and I'll never willingly support Apple again. For my most recent computer I bought a Windows laptop, immediately replaced Windows with Ubuntu - best computer I've ever had and for only for $300 not $1300 like the macbook :)

For recording and editing sound files - Mac OS kills Linux though. unless you're a Linux guru maybe. but I'm not :(

I'll agree 100% with ANYTHING but MS, and I'll agree that linux was/is the bomb.... Your point on, that it's the OS that makes it, not so much the hardware. Apple makes pretty hardware, but that doesn't justify the price..OS X is a huge part of being willing to part with the cheese. PC Hardware is just as good/commonly better, the issue is Windows. Doing as you did, is by far the most economical way to have a reliable computer!!!

If you are into graphic design, Apple is the bee's knees. I'm not... but hey, different strokes.

That used to be the case but in the last 10 years or so, not so much. Its almost become an urban myth at this point. Ive used both Windows and Macs the past few years and I dont see any difference when using Photoshop. Apple used to have superior processing and memory management that allowed it to perform labor intensive tasks easily without crashing. Windows used to crash and give you the 'blue screen of death' if you tried to open Photoshop and a browser at the same time. The past few versions of Windows have corrected pretty much all the memory problems that plagued it in the past. Ive always mainly used PC's and Ive been doing graphic design, web design (mainly Flash) and audio recording/editing on PC's since the early '00s. Photoshop, Flash, Protools, theyve all worked flawlessly for me using Windows. However, Ive always bought PC's with the best processor and most memory that the system could handle at that time. No matter what kind of operating system you have, if you dont have enough processing power and memory, youre going to have problems.

Windows/Macs/Linux, its kind of like vaping in that everyone has a favorite, and at the end of the day you should just use whatever works for you. :vapor:

Oh, and I love the NT WOOKIE!!! :p

Oreo and Wakonda was delicious. Can't wait to try GC and Wakonda. Maybe, one of these days I'll quit getting moved around all over Afghanistan long enough to have my order of GC shipped to me.

We got some bottles here waiting for you big guy ;)

I know man, I wish I could get em. Hopefully just a few more days and I'll be settled back in the routine. You'll be getting a good sized order from me soon.

We actually have quite a few donations from family to throw in, also... people periodically toss a bottle on and say "send it to an active duty serviceperson" - I am sure you will run into someone, eventually, that could use a morale boost.
