I was always intrigued by the E-Cig idea and while in Walmart i decided to buy a disposable "njoy" unit they had for $6 at the counter. I was taken back by how much it felt and tasted like a real cigarette. I smoke Kool 100s and it was a bit minty for me, like Orbit gum, but i saw the potential (Only smoked two real Cigs the whole day).

After a bunch of reading and Youtube videos i decided to go with the Kgo 1100mah Kit and a Drip Tip

My problem is I'm not sure what website to purchase it from.
How much liquid can i fill it with?
Are the Cartridges that come with it the actual Cartomizer and are they refillable?
What unseen event can possibly take place that might make me regret this purchase?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to ECF! I'm a newbie too, started earlier this week on disposables and just ordered my first "real" e-cig set up today after spending billionty-seven hours reading and researching. The "Forum Supplers" tab at the top of the page is a good place to start for suppliers. I've spent a lot of time reading reviews, mostly on this site but also eleswhere, and generally lurking here.

The KGO was my second choice (I went with the eGo-C) and hopefully both you and I will both be blown away by a "real" e-cig after starting with not-so-good ones!

I'd look into this one: SLB KGO Starter Kit This kit comes with cartomizers (as opposed to the atty/cartridge setup) which I personally prefer, but different strokes, etc. The PV should be the same otherwise, AFAIK. I don't know how much e-juice you'll need but I'd suggest trying a few sample kits with small bottles of asstd. flavors/nic levels/etc. from different vendors to find what you like. Whatever you choose I'd suggest LR cartomizers (between 1.5 - 2.5 Ohms), & the Smoktech XL 1.7 Ohm hold almost twice the juice as the Boge. I've had great service from both brands.

BTW not shilling for one vendor over another; Hoosier is an excellent source for vaping supplies, and I've never personally bought anything from DCV... I just like cartos better than atty/cart setups.

Happy Vaping! :vapor:

I was looking at that exact vendor. The cartomizer vs atomizer is throwing me for a loop though. The videos i watched show most people saying they prefer the atomizer. They speak on some kind of fiber being inside the cartomizer that degrades over time and you'd need to buy new ones. That fiber issue is kinda what turned me off, but im not sure if the same goes for all cartomizers.

Another site i was looking at
KGO (Riva) 1100mAh Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit - $49.95

This comes with 2 atomizers and 6 cartriges...but im not sure if the carts are good ones. But i like the idea of having both.
Any recomendations?

+1 on Warren Lockaby's comment about atomizers or cartomizers over cartridges. To me? Carts are a total waste. In case you are unfamiliar w/ the difference, you can drip directly onto an atomizer to vape, use a cartomizer (carto) which is an atomizer + polyfill to hold juice. A cartridge (cart) is simply a plastic tip with filler inside.

I remember being terribly dissapointed when I got a kit that only had carts. They were not satisfying to me.

Good luck w/ your new kit! Welcome to the ECF.

Cartridges are a thing of the past. I would recommend ordering a few different types of cartomizers and figuring out which ones you like. The Boge LR 2.0 ohm cartomizers are probably the most popular overall, but recently I've been using SmokTech XL 1.7 ohm(Resurrectors) and they've been pretty darn awesome.

I've been vaping about 6ml of juice a day and have only killed 4 Boge cartos in a month, but your mileage may vary, so make sure you order enough to get you through your first hump. Do the same thing with juices, and make sure you order a variety. I've been vaping for about a month and I have around 300 mL of various juice flavors to keep a good variety. What you like in the beginning may not taste good later, so be prepared for some shifting tastes.

I tend to agree with hufflepuff, I am terribly disappointed with "cartos". I seemed to have such muted flavor, and blew thru 6ml of juice in 1 day as opposed to my 2ml normal daily use. I had bought a ton of cartos to learn on, so I could (crossing fingers) "help" the hubby to get started when and if he decides he wants to try it. I have been a catridge/atty user from the beginning, and just can't seem to get a satisfying vape using cartos. I do use the "blue foam mod" in all of my carts, have since the start, and I am really pleased. The only reason I throw out a cart is if it is too melted at the end, or I drop and break it. I wash and reuse. The kgo is my new favorite, I started on the rivas, loved them, but wanted more battery life, so went with the kgo. Hoosier sells the kits reasonably with carts and atties, and dark city vapors sells them with cartomizers only. I have not ordered from hoosier, but dcv is great (if you want cartos, like I said, I have a ton I had gotten to learn on, and just decided to get them with the kgo). I compare using cart+atty to direct dripping, but with a little less dripping, as carts hold some juice to wick, and dripping only gets a couple drops of e-liquid to vape into the atomizer.

Just get more than a couple cartomizers and any 2-3ohm atomizer with a 510 connector if you want to try to go the atomizer route.

Generally the coil lasts longer on an atomzer, but they cost more and it also depends on the juice you use and what their resistance is. Lower resistances, say 2ohms or less, burn out faster because they burn hotter.

You should get close to a week with the Smoketech carto if you don't run it dry or use thick, dark juices.

IIRC, the kGo is a 510 connector. You can get any 510 atomizer to try. You'll have to use it with some kind of cartridge unless you want to "drip" in which case you'll need a drip tip.

The E turbo is specially made for the kGo so you can use it with the cone. Normal atomizers will work with a kGo, but you may, or may not, be able to use them with the cone fitted on.

Atomizers are good for testing juices by "dripping" a few drops straight into the atomizer so you don't have to fill up a carto with a juice you may hate.

Make sure you have at least 5 or more cartos if that will be your main way to vape. You can clean them, but it's usually not worth the trouble, so you have to dedicate a carto to each flavor you use. You might want to try some with a slightly higher resistance, say 2.0-2.5 ohms. Some juice tastes better with a less warm cartomizer.

...

Decent kit, but 2 things the OP should be aware of. One, it's being shipped from China. Second, it's 650mah. That's a pretty small battery and seems to be the size eGo I hear most problems about. The VV is nice, but kind of rough on a non-replaceable battery of that size, just IMHO.

Yes, sorry I meant to say it's being shipped from China. I only buy hardware direct from the source.

The problem isn't with the eGo batteries, the problem is with the eGo tanks. This kit uses cartomizers instead. The batteries are actually very good. Two of my 650mAh eGos would last more than a day of reasonably heay vaping.

OK..anybody know an alternative for this:

E Turbo Atomizer $5.49
E Turbo Atomizer

I want something that can hold some liquid that i dont have to throw away. Not only do i want to kick Cigarettes, I want to cut down all the expences that came with it. I would really prefer to just buy the juice, without buying a bunch of cartomizers as well. I think ill be dripping mostly. But i can see a time when ill want to step out for the day without having to bring a bottle of juice. Im not sure how many Milliliters of juice was inside the "NJOY" e-cig..but it lasted me a Day and 1/2 before it quit.

Is this the same thing? Elite Vaporworks Vision eGo Transparent Clearomizer - 510 Cartomizers and Tanks
This guy also sells the kgo now with cartomizers. And he has free shipping (and he ships out fast too!)

Just put in my order at Elite Vaporworks Home. I had a pleasent experience. A man name Jason took my call and got me set up. I went with them because they already had 36ml of 32mg juice and the Boge 2.0 cartomizers. Jason seemed like a very honest guy and i would definately buy from him again, pending the shipment goes according to plan. I intended on spending and extra $25, along with the $45 for the KGO starter kit, on accesories. (Atty, Tank and others) Jason told me not to waste my money on it because he didnt think it was quality. Thats saying something. Generally a salesman will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to spend more money. He says he shipping it off tommorow and i should have it in 2-3 days. Faster than i was expencting. Hope it goes well.
