but I also understand vape is harm reduction, not harm elimination.

"Like" x1000!

The JAC delivers. I still think in voltage and run at 4v, which on the radius and P3 shows 7.8watts. I guess I'm a tootle puffer!

You most certainly ARE! You're not in bad company either (but I'm biased).

A match made in vape heaven ... something new / something old. I pulled from storage a KFL-nano. I forgot how 'good' these are ... no wonder my wife has no desire to move beyond her collection of KFL-lites. When I match the vape of this w/ a TC build, then I'll be happy.

This one is using a 2.5mm id coil, 7 wraps of Kanthal for 1.7 Ωs, and vaping it at 12 watts.

Yes, I'm building on the K5. Works great. Subohming doesn't really mean anything in TC. It's no more cloud chasing than a standard 1+ ohm kanthal build. I'm set at 420 F at 20W. The wattage isn't that important. 20W gets it to temp plenty fast.

As I patiently wait for my mod are you setting temperature and watts or one or the other? The K5 is so easy to put a build on it. My K5 reads .066 and I'm using 21 watts with the Provari boost set at 3. I did go from 50/50 juice to 70/30 VG/PG.

Both. You set your temp and your watts. The instructions will show you how. The watts ramp up till you hit the set temp then it backs off to maintain the temp.

That DOES look like a nice set-up!

Maybe I should look at a few KFL vids. Never owned one, but I vaguely recall that the draw is very tight (1.6 mm max?) and you can't work the build without draining the tank?

I wouldn't call the original KFL's draw as very tight. It's an acceptable draw. I do more prefer a more open draw like the KF5's but I did have to get used to that ... in the beginning they felt like vaping through a milkskake straw. I gotten acceptable builds on the KFL-lite for use w/ TC vaping ... but it is limited due to the limited draw.

I can not get my wife to use anything other then KFL-Lites, so my challenge is getting 'em to work w/ TC. I now prefer the more open draw of the 2nd/3rd gen KFLs for Kanthal or TC builds. Particularly it seem's TC vaping likes more air going over the coil/wick to aid in cooling/temp protect.

If you can find a Kayfil tool ... they work well for disassembly of the KFL-Lite w/o draining the tank for re-wicking/coiling.

Well, please let us know how it performs for you in TC. Something to think about...(like I really need more tanks). ;)

On my KFL shorties, if the chimney is tight enough in the tube, you can take the base out and work on the build, just as long as the chimney doesn't come loose in the tube.

I have a fix for filling the KFL. I'll post a picture tomorrow. I think I have 3 KFL'S lites which I seldom use much. They may end up in the classified ads.

So how would I get a consistent vape, or is that simply not part of the deal?

NOT saying I'm changing anything, more just wondering. I like to know what I'm getting when I push the button (which is what drew me to ProVape, so very long ago).

After the ramp up to the set temperature - which happens in a fraction of a second - your liquid should vaporize at a set temperature - or very close to it - until the fire button is released. Some TC chips do better than others at accomplishing this and the Evolve DNA chips are considered by many to be at the top of the hill. (Can't say that from personal experience yet...)

Look at your watts as the furnace and TC as your thermostat. The watts generate the heat the TC keeps it at the temperature you want. When you hit the fire button the furnace gives you a blast and as soon as it hits the set temp it kicks back to maintain that temp.
