Before Eagles was formed, J.D. Souther & Glenn Frey were a duo hitting the clubs in LA. I saw them only one time as an opening act at the Troubadour. When they recorded the Longbranch Pennywhistle album they threw together a pretty good band to back them up. Ry Cooder & James Burton on guitars, Jim Gordon on drums, Doug Kershaw on fiddle, Joe Osborn on bass, and Larry Knechtel on keyboards. Yeah, those guys will work.
