I like Time to Smile! not heard it before. Like the Blues for Otis Rush too ...I love blues guitar.
I am with you Pictor, I gave up my cell phone when I retired. It's really peaceful to no longer be tethered any longer.
It's 26 years since I gave up a 'real' job to tinker with paint - for a careful person, it felt like stepping off a cliff!. So, I never had much need for a cell phone, and the one I had didn't get a lot of use ..they weighed a ton back then anyway!
The '99 tour was, IMO, one of EC's best tours. Why am I not surprised that you know who Nathan East is and observed his surprise as to what song was about to be played.
Yes, Nathan East pops up in places - I don't get to see a lot, but I do see him now and then.
Watching that video first time, it put a huge grin of delight on my face with the sudden way he started that ...subsequent times of watching, you can enjoy that little sneaky look on Clapton's face ..he knows what he's going to do, and it's great!
I even have a feeling you also know that Andy Fairweather Low, Tim Carmon, David Delhomme, Steve Gadd, Katie Kissoon & Tessa Niles were the other band member on that tour. Also, for that Madison Square Garden show he brought out a few of his friends to play with him. David Sanborn, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige and Bob Dylan.
I didn't know who all of them were, but I do know who some them are - I'm one of those people who knows what I like and can often let the minutiae slip by me
Did you see EC when he was with John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers way back when?
a little yes,
and particularly with Cream.
You may think of yourself today as a "tired night owl" but to us, you will always be a tidy bird. Yup.
Ah! that's nice. thanks
Hi Pictor! Good to see you over in our secret musical garden [emoji6] !
Hi Bob - Glad to be here! I was brought up on music- piano, ballet, opera - only right I still love it, and quite a diverse liking too
Bob, you may not know this, but Pictor is not only a "tidy bird" but a world renowned artist as well. She truly is a master of traditional still life painting. She does not know this yet, but I am putting a few dollars away each month in hope of buying one of her paintings. Her paintings can be placed side by side to Juan Sanchez Cotan's work and Pictor's will shine head & shoulders above his in my opinion. For real.
Gosh, I'm flattered that you'd like to get one of my paintings!
People do say wonderful things about my work, and I do try to make it the best I can, but complacency isn't something that works alongside me, so I'm always very self-critical.
You'll probably know that my focus and concentration has been shot to bits since I stopped smoking, but I also think a bit of what's still going on is the on-going effects of the recession which badly affected the art scene. As a result, I'm trying to diversify with a few pieces, so am trying even harder to focus ..hence my very late nights! I always work late, but not usually quite as late as recently. I think I get like a rabbit caught in headlights ..scared to move on. So I tend to stare at the canvas and try to think
through the next move instead of spontaneously painting ..and it stalls me. I'll keep going ..something's got to click into place to kick start me soon!
Hopefully, I'll have some interesting new ones for my exhibition by late autumn!
Pictor, if I let the cat out of the bag, I will erase this post if you wish.
No, it's OK - there was a bit of PM chatter last year, and then I think it was Newport put a painting in a post on the forum

...people liked it though, so that's OK.
I tend to keep me and the work me separate with things like forums, but one way or another, someone picks up on something and some know about it. I'm just a me really.
Yeah, we've known about Pictors talents for some time. Here butter looks real enough to eat!! Mighty talented lady!
That was the first time I ever painted butter! ..or muffins come to that! Turned out OK it seems!
I have a spot on the wall in my office that one of her paintings will someday hang.
That's so nice! - I'm usually saving for pieces of oriental ceramics to use in my work!
I have a Taifun wicking question. How much cotton do let hang out from the chamber sleeve? Or is silica a better choice than cotton?
What key is it played in?
