I've been lurking for a bit and have really appreciated all of the information that is provided on this website, especially the comprehensive "Wonderful world of vaping" by DonDaBoomVape.
So, I finally took the leap and just ordered a Janty eGo set with an additional 5 blank cartridges and a sampler pack of Tobacco flavored juices. It just looked like the right hardware for my needs after going through a lot of youtube reviews from members of this site. I'm a pack + a day Marlboro Red smoker (16 years) and I've tried everything to quit (and even succeeded for a good 5 month runs using NRT - patch - on multiple occasions.)
I plan to see what the eGo offers this week and then make the decision concerning if it is a device that I can use. At that point, I'll dig deeper and invest in more juice and do a bit more reading. At the most I am out pocket change. Well, it seemed more than that when I clicked purchase, but that is because I generally make micro payments into my tobacco habit (i.e. only a pack or two at a time.)
That said, I've always had my failing when it comes to giving up tobacco , which is beer. If I drink beer, I want the throat hit of smoke as well as the nicotine. A patch doesn't do it.
From what I have read, some people seem to get that satisfaction from vaping while others go back to the analog. I hope I am the latter rather than the former, but I figure at the very least if I can cut out most of my smoking during the day and only smoke analogs with beer at night in the short term, I am doing myself some good.
Clearly this is going to be a long personal project.
