Janty LR Atomizers

Hey Ya'll,
Been a member here quite a while but haven't posted very ofter so I guess I'm restricted to the New Members Forum. Anyhow, I've had the Janty Ego since Feb and love it. Been smoking analogs for 42 years but haven't had one since getting the Ego. Tried quitting smoking many times but nothing ever worked until now. I've always been very pleased with Janty. Excellent merchandise and FAST shipping. Great folks. But I just got my order yesterday for a 5 pack of LR atomizers and I'm a bit disappointed. I really can't tell any difference between the regular Ego atomizer and the LR atomizer. I was expecting a much better throat hit and much more vapor but it seems about the same to me. Anyone else wish to share their experience with LR atomizers.

I also meant to add that I do seem to get a much better hit when vaping the Ego without the cone - although it is much prettier with the cone on. Wonder if vaping without the cone has any adverse effects?

As you, I've been a member for a while, but haven't had time to use this forum like i've wanted.

I have the eGo and several other systems, and I use the LR Attys. I didn't see a big difference on the eGo's. I don't know the what the eGo's' battery rating is, but I've read that the LR's are meant for 450 mAh batteries or higher.

I use the LR's on some of my home made systems and other ones that I've purchase that have a removable battery(s). I get pretty good results from 500mAh on 900mAh systems.

The problem that I have is that the LR's are based on the smaller volume carts. And at 900mAh, I empty a cart in just a few hours.

I don't use the covers either. I think it's more for the looks and to reduce the air intake. I tend to hold it, with my hand wrapped around that area so I can adjust regulate the intake. I get a better draw with less air.

Other than that; there would be no issues.

the only LR atty i've used was from Nhaler, so i'm not sure if my experience will help or not. i LOVED the LR atty with the eGo and drip tip. for me it gave a better overall experience - great vapor production, slightly warmer vapor, good TH and brought out the flavor in a lot of my juices. i haven't been able to replicate that experience...even on my 5v PT.

as far as using the cone, i couldn't have said it any better than Scottbee (quote from another thread) -

A LR atty... just like a standard atty on HV, is trying to dissipate a lot of power. There are "beneficial" ways for it to dissipate that power, and wasteful ways. If the power is used to make vapor.. that's good. Any power wasted on making (excess) heat (or light!) is bad. And since the coil is trying to dissipate a lot of power in a small space, the only real ways to keep it cool (and prolong the life) is to present it with a lot of liquid to "vaporize", and/or a lot of airflow for forced convection cooling. And.... give it a good heat rejection path for any power that isn't carried away via vapor or airflow.

The Tornado/eGo hurts you in two ways if you are running the cone. The cone "tightens up" the draw... which reduces the overall airflow through the atomizer. And while that usually makes for a "warmer" vapor.. that also means the the coil isn't getting as much cooling air. Secondly, the cone, by design, helps to keep the outer body and overall atomizer temperature a bit higher via the extra layer of insulation. Obviously, that causes the coil temps to go higher also.

While both of those "features" may be viewed as benefits with standard or HR atomizers..... they can probably bring LR atties to an earlier death.
