For the last couple of weeks, my JS began leaking a lot (had it for 5 months). Finally, today, the switch stopped working. When I connect to USB, I see it is charging. But when I press the button, no vapor and no blue light.

Now what? Is there a quick fix for this problem? Or do I need to send this back?

JS has been great for me for carrying it around. Maybe it is not as reliable as I hope. SD wasn't good for carrying it around. 901 wasn't great for outside (extra battery, leaking, etc).

I heard that 510 + PCC might be good for carrying it around. Any suggestions or your experience? Should I just forget about JS and get 510 and PCC?

Thank you.

it has a 6 month warranty.

contact Janty or whoever you bought it from, send it back, and theyll send you a new one.

They will replace it right away with no issues. But the switch is a design flaw and you can expect another failure down the road. Some posters have removed the switch cover and cleaned the switch contacts. But then you've gotta put some tape over it and it'll obviously void the warranty. Might have to consider the JS as a 6 month device.

Thank you, Darcy, Doot, and Quitter.

I am going to send a request for service/replacement. In the meantime, I would like explore the 510. Does anyone know if 510 PCC leaks? Either leaking into the electronics inside or leaking outside the case.

I know the 510 itself would leak. But, when you unscrew the atomizer and put it back into PCC, I was wonder if the liquid will get into the electronic components and battery of PCC.

Anyone, any experience with PCC?

Also, how does 510 plus PCC compares to JS?

Thank you.

I really the concept of the JS as far as the built-in USB pass thru. It has a 360Mah batt (compared to the 140Mah of a standard batt and 280 Mah of the Mega batt). The great thing is that the USB will power it when plugged in and charge it. It's really, really convenient! In my car I just have a $10 usb plug for the cig lighter and power the JS in the car at all times. At my desk I have a simple ac to usb plug (an iPod unit actually) and plug the JS in to charge. Never have to mess with loading/unloading batteries in both the unit or a seperate charger. To me this is a fantastic feature! I think all PV's should have this! I'm really disappointed that Janty didn't include it in the new eGo. I'd have bought one in a heartbeat!!

Yes. You bet! I really liked JS. It got me to move to 801 from 901 + SD. Pick up JS and a bottle ready to go out. No hassle. No parts to carry. Always ready without screwing and unscrewing..

That is all up until leaking problem got worse and finally the switch failed.

Janty did say they will send me a replacement today--that's a good service, if they do.

I was wondering 510 plus PCC would do the same or similar to JS? Portability (ready to go anytime) and having a "kind of" built-in USB charger, etc. Except that I would need to unscrew and screw in atomizer and batteries.

But, no accidental trigger and it is a case like a pack of analogs.

So, JS or 510 plus PCC, that is the question. :)

Well for my .02

I'm not a fan of the whole 801 system. With my JS I was never able to make it work to my satisfaction. I was so frustrated with it I almost tossed the JS!! I had been vaping on 510's since the start and really prefer that system. I bought the 510 adapter from AltSmokes and sudddenly my JS is great! Whatever you do, don't buy the 510 adapter from Janty! It has a resistor in it that makes the 510 atty run at reduced voltage and it'll make you not use it! If you want to know more about using a 510 on the JS let me know and I'll fill you in. BTW - the 510 system is really effective if you use the Blue Foam mod! Trust me!!

Yes, even version 2 has problems. I started with one in late August, and have had them replaced every month since. Button and leakage problems. I really like the JS, but really get tired of them not lasting a month. When I write Janty, they send a new one, but it goes on the blink after a short time, too. Wish they would figure that out...

Happy to report that the 801 to 901 converter from MVS works very well with SD. Their adopter is for 905, but I guess SD is the same thing. I got my SD out of closet (which I shelved when I got JS). I remember why I got SD in the first place--it just works.

When I ordered the adopter last Friday, I was thinking I would use my SD with 801 atty in case my JS failed. What do you know? My JS failed Monday morning and received the adopter Monday PM.

But.. I must say, SD plus adopter plus 801 atty plus cart = ridiculously long to carry around. :D Well, in a pinch, it works like a charm. Indeed, I think I am going to use SD + 801 at home instead of 801 pass-thru.

Still interested in 510. 510 + PCC should be the same as JS except you can't vape when charging. What do you think?

Do 510 battery and PCC last long? I mean in terms of mechanical failure, not how long the battery charge last. I was wondering if PCC would fail like JS due to leakage.

If 510 atty runs hotter than JS (801), would atty dies quicker too?

Any thoughts or experience?

Thank you.

I must be in the minority. My JS V2 has worked great for the past two and a half months.

I have both Altsmokes and Jantys 510 adapter, plus the 901 adapter, which works far better than their 510 adapter.

I also have an assorted pile of 510 attys, batteries and PCC's which I haven't used much since receiving my JS.

Janty's great when it comes to customer service, so I'd just send it back before your warranty runs out. Having one PV that'll get me through the work day trumps having to carry around chargers and constantly swapping out batteries.

What the heck. :) I just ordered 510 + PCC. I will see if it works just as well as JS.

I wasn't saying JS is not good (except for the switch failure). In fact, it lasted me 5 months! If the replacement lasts a few more months, we are talking $8-10 per month. I can live with that. While worked, it was a great and convenient machine (ready to grab and go anytime).

However, when the everyday anytime vaporizer fails.. Oh-uh.

I wasn't sure if I should get a second JS or 510 + PCC. Although something can be said for second JS as backup, I think I am going to try 510 + PCC. Maybe alternate for awhile see which one works better, that is once I get the JS replacement and receive the 510+PCC shipment from MVS.

I know it won't work with your PCC but the Mega Batts from TW really make the 510 usable. I bought a 5 pack from em and each batt lasts twice as long as a normal 510 batt. If I have a few charged ones on me I can go most of the day. I use TW's 5 port charger so I always have em all ready to go.

The vape time on the standard 510 batts is dismal. Seems like all I was doing was changing & charging batts!!!

So the main disadvantage of the JS is the Switch? how difficult is to repair that switch? anyone tried?

Earlier someone said that the switch could be repaired and I can't imagine it is that difficult. But it would void the warranty. If under warranty, why not get a new one? That was my thought.

I warn against using high-bridge 801 atty on JS. At least in my case, the high-bridge made the leaking worse by pressing on filler and flooding the atty (which in turn get the liquid into electronics including the switch).

I've been using my stick every day for 5 months with zero problems. I have two backups that I rarely use (I recommend anyone have backups). Even if it failed after two months, I'd figure I was ahead of the game since the cost is approximately that of a carton and a half of analogs (or a week and half at my previous level of smoking analogs).

I am waiting patiently for Janty to come out with their new design for the stick (V3) and the new model (XL), which I will promptly buy.

I just recently got a disposable 510 (10 bucks) to compare to the stick. It's good, nothing really special, but I can't stand the carts on the 510, they last about a minute compared to the stick 801, so I'm using the disposable to drip new flavors to see if I like them. I certainly wouldn't depend on the 510 with its little batteries to get me through a day or night without a pocket full of spares or a PCC, which seems like way too much luggage after using the stick this long.

same here...although just in the last few days its started to misfire frequently.

no problem tho...i'll just get it replaced under warranty.

i really like the JS,and will also get the XL when it comes out...hopefully soon.

however...a good atomiser type is essential.
i bought a load of true DSE801s,and they just dont cut it in the stick...or indeed with normal pen batteries.

for 3.7v vaping,id recommend the Janty atomiser,and RN4072s...others recommend the BE112 or M201.
anything but those pesky,unsatisfying DSE801s.

Mr. Darcy, sorry to tell you, but that's how my problem with JS got started infrequent mis-fire to frequent mis-fire, to sudden death.

My JS was one right out of thei first V2 shipment (pre-order for V2). I think the quality varies a lot. I heard some last quite long (well, I guess mine was one of longest lasting one SO FAR, since it was the first V2's). Some died rather quick.

But, I concur with the careful selection of atty. High-bridge 801, no. no.

I heard low-bridge 801 and Joye 302 are okay.. I ordered 302 last week and JS died unfortunately before they showed up (died about 8 hours before they showed up).

I think JS would last a lot longer if the "pipe" for atty is better sealed and it would be also helpful if we can easily take out the atty and clean any overflow. Take my SD.. Anything leak, I just wipe it off. Not easy to do with JS.

But, I say it again.. JS had been a very convenient vaporizer for me.. I used it exclusively for five months at home, at work everywhere! I am sure I will enjoy the replacement too. Heck, I might order another one too. $80 every 6-8 months is not bad at all, that is if you have a solid backup.
