not as a user doable solution DC.. at the moment it would be a return to base for modification approach..

we dont have access to the great chinese make anything for five dollars gizmo factory as yet.. he he..

its just too fiddly to make user plug in modules.. just buying the bit that matters might be an option.. the rest is just window dressing..

I'm not sure I quite understand how it is supposed to work? Is it a big battery and two cart/atomizer combos? You swap out and go?

I'm very new to e-cigs (about a month) but ever since i got my first 901 and started fiddling with it and constantly swapping out the batteries I thought it would be cool if there was a "pack style" with a much larger batt. in it and then really small cart/atomizer/batt's combo. The large batt. could be fashioned to about the size of an ipod and you store/charge the smaller cart/atomizer/batt. inside it.

Kind of like those little rc cars that you pop on the controller for to charge for a 5 minute run, or the motorola h5 miniblue bluetooth headset (you can google it, I would post links to examples but I'm too noob). You know, charge pack overnight, then throw in the cigarette sized cart/atomizer/batt in it for a quick charge... you could even have spots for 2 or 3 of them in there for the heavy vapers or a night out.

What do you think?

I just threw together this mockup to show what I was talking about.

huey, you "threw" together that mockup!?!?!? holy crap, I couldn't even come up with something that nice if I was given 24 hours to do so ... very nice!

EDIT: So huey, judging by your post and the diagram, the atomizer and batteries would be reusable right? not disposable? they would continue to keep the same style of today ecigs, just in a smaller size with shorter bursts of energy?

and the even smaller very low capacity little cigarette batteries would not last two minutes.. its a portable power pack.. but if its only charging very small e cig batteries the cig battery replacement problem will get worse..

if the atomizer is directly powered by the big battery it will work.. but u end up puffing on a cigarette pack.. or a cig on a wire..

It is similar - but an improvement - over the DealExtreme Health pack. Trog is correct that the problem here is the battery. Even new and fully charged, it can't deliver. The Health pack does not hold a charge, however; I initially thought it did. The Health pack just plugs in and charges a battery, which then quickly fails. I'll not try E-Cig's unit, thank you very much.

What we need is new super dooper space age batteries, then that nifty pack idea would be an attractive option.

One day technology will be so advanced we will be able to vapourise with the power from a potato (Irish solutions always involve spuds :p)

We could wear the spuds on a string around our necks and have our devices wired to them. We could even paint our spuds nice colours and customise them ... :D

e cigs really do suffer from a very very simple problem.. a battery that quite simply isnt big enough..

simple equation.. 800 mah current draw = early death for 130 mah lithium ion batteries..

this is made worse by the fact some of them are in use all day and very day..

with current battery technology which aint likely to change for a long time there is no answer to this.. except treat the batteries as semi disposable items just like most of us now treat the atomizers..

the great chinese gizmo copy anything for five dollars machine strikes again.. copy a ruyan occasional use smoking supplement concept.. make it smaller and more desirable and sell it to heavy smokers who think they can smoke one all day and very day..

the end result.. a divice that works when it feels like it and needs its components replaceing every two minutes.. hmmm..
