Lol reminds me of when I was learning to roll tobacco. I spent a lot of time learning to roll the perfect smoke with just enough tobacco and no air pockets heh
I can't really tell much difference between the Rayon and the Tencel Top, performance wise. But it seems to me that the TT fibers are more... silky? Makes them a tad more difficult to work with.
I went to a vape shop today, and had a convo with the guy working there about, organic cotton, Japanese cotton, rayon. He gave me some rayon, so I'll try that and see what I think. I do have to say, the Japanese cotton wicks very nicely.
I've been very pleased with Japanese cotton. Until I find its limitations I'm not going to worry about it too much. Picking out little seeds does kinda suck tho.
I've tried a new cellulose wick material named "Fiberfreaks" which is available in two distinct density. The raw material is a wood lyocell product from an organic solvent
Density one looks like a "cloud" and will match any type of atties as density 2 looks like Japanese cotton pads (KoGenDo) and will better fit a dripper use. I've used both of them for a month and in my point of view it has a better resistance to warmth than japanese cotton.
I like both organic unbleached and Japanese cotton. The organic is nice because it's easy to get. It wicks ok and the flavor is fine. The Japanese is nice because it's easy to work with wicks really well and the flavor is the same at organic but harder to get.
If you look close at the cotton in the Japanese and regular organic balls you can see the difference in how it's processed and why the Japanese wicks better.
On the other hand aside from the learning curve rayon is hands down better than either cotton.
