Jatropha contamination of glycerin. An issue for vapors?

I went off topic in another thread, so maybe this would be a better place for the experts to explain the potential for Jatropha oil to make it into our Vegetable Glycerin.

Or is the FDA just trying to scare us?

Jatropha seems to be the panacea (spell than pana$ea) for the bio-diesel/glycerin market.

Big money is investing in Jotropha cultivation because of the high yeild compared to other bio-diesel feedstocks.

I believe it is for real. 26 people died in panama inn 2006 when diethylene glycol was used instead of propylene glycol. If you read that article manufactures are responsible for knowing there source of food grade products.

Soooo..Stick to USA manufactured food grade glycerin and you dont have to worry about it.

The FDA announced they were cracking down on imported food grade products last year. So Im sure more is to follow...
