Hey guys, Ive been vaping now for about a week and it seems like i'm running into more and more problems. Today my jaw is hurting pretty bad because i'm trying to get a good draw but can't seem to do so. I can't even take a hard draw anymore. only very lightly so i don't add to the damage. just wonderin if anyone else has experienced this particular problem.

This is gonna sound silly, but I did this yesterday..../blush

Are you accidentally covering over the hole in the atomizer so you aren't able to take a smooth easy draw? It's amazing how much difference one little hole makes...hehe I was all confused as to why I suddenly couldn't vape at ALL when it had been going so smoothly......

Yeah I did this :( I'm a dummy sometimes!

If you are drawing so hard that it hurts your jaw, you are not getting the throat hit expereince you got from analog cigarettes. I understand your need. To me, vaping an e-cig is like sucking on an ultra-light analog and it was certainly not meeting my expectations.

If you are not a DIY-type person willing to build your own high-voltage vaping device, then I highly recommend anything by Zi Moshi (fourm member secondsonxxx), a Screwdriver (made by forum member trog) or a GG (made by a Grecian forum member). These devices have higher capacity batteries, connections for penstyle or 901 atomizers, manual switches and outstanding throat hit. Though I have not personally used any of the mentioned devices, I did build a few 6v modified battery packs and can say with conviction that this is what vaping should have been...Wailting for wv2win to chime in. He is such a fanboy, but oh so correct.

I agree with breakfastchef, all good points. Before I got a Screwdriver, I used a 901 and felt the throat hit was very inconsistent. So I would hold my finger over the atomizer hole for a second or two, then let up and continue to inhale. This did provide better throat hit because it heated up the atomizer a little like a manual switch device like the Screwdriver or breakfastchef's mod does. But like you, my jaw sometimes got tired because it was harder to inhale. A manual switch PV with a bigger battery will solve your issues. At least it did for me and is well supported by members on this forum.

Here is a poll of members favorite PV's:

Good luck and keep experimenting!

I am also new to vaping and have been doing it for about 4 days now and have the jaw pain as well. I think it is just an adjustment stage. The primer puff has worked great for me and everything is getting smoother now that I am starting to get used to the change.

It's just like your wrist hurting when you got your first computer with a mouse.

Oh, crap! I think I just opened this up to 100 "wrist hurting" jokes.
