New to vaping, just got started yesterday actually.

I charged my eGo batt's over night, and yesterday morning I started vaping. I lasted till about 6pm without smoking an analog, but once i got some beers in me, i wasn't really worried about it. lol.
To assist with the drinking, i switched down to a 18mg nic juice and i could tell the difference. I was losing my mind. Today I have had 2 analogs, just because they are there, trying to talk my wife into ditching them, but she has a joyce 510 and is not feeling the success I am.

Anyway, to the point. My eGo batt, (i am pretty sure a 650ma batt) has lasted me all day yesterday, vaping like a fiend, and so far to now with no issues. That is 29 hours now (didn't charge it while i slept) Should this be normal? should I charge it before it dies on me or wait for it to flash before charging to get the longest life of the battery. it came with 2 in the starter kit, so it won't slow me down.
If the batts last this long, i could give my wife the other eGo while i order another kit for her. if it is not normal life tho or if I should charge it sooner, then I would just be greedy and keep my eGo's to myself

I'm using the Rivas, an eGo clone with supposedly 750mah batts...when I first started, I was getting better battery life since I was not hitting it as hard as I do now...now, with 1.7 to 2.0ohm cartos, I get about 7 hours of HEAVY chain vaping before needing to change out batts...what kinda cartos or atty/carts are you using for that more than exceptional time...I do know, my technique has refined/changed as I learned to use it and I now hold my button longer than I did at the beginning..................
madjack:2cool:
p.s. charging your batts sooner, rather than latter is GOOD for longevity of the batts.............mj
p.s.s as my technique changed, I found I could go thru 2+ batts in a daze time...................mj

I had to laugh at the last part about being greedy. There has been many debates about recharging. I think you should just throw it on the charger overnight and not wait till it drains completely. It being an ego 650mah battery it shouldn't take that long to charge. My Echo 1300mah battery takes a little over 9 hour, when drained completely, to recharge. I say let your wife try the extra battery and see if she likes it. My wife wants me to get her an Echo to try because she doesn't like the KR808 I gave her.

BTW 29 hours on that battery is very good, you must not be an allday habitual vapor like the rest of us.

What a great problem or non-problem "my batteries are lasting entirely too long!"

Absolutely share one of your eGo batts with your wife and take one of her slim 510s for a backup for yourself. You can get by a bit with a slim ecig if you get caught with a drained eGo batt.

I use Kgos (very close to an Ego with a bit longer batt life and voltage). Running the battery to the point of it flashing with a charge alert is not an easy thing to do. Sometimes it's 3 or 4 days. That's why I love the Fat Batt PVs.

There are some days you may vape like a lab monkey and run the batt down in a shift at work. Have a backup handy and you'll be fine. The eGo passthroughs are outstanding. There's a little port on the bottom you can plug in and vape and charge at the same time. If you decide to get another eGo for your wife that would be a great option.

Congrats on the switch and wishing your wife success as well.

I am on leave right now, and all day yesterday I was hitting that thing, probably 2 seconds cook-off, then 4-6 second draw. I am still dealing with throat tickle/cough but I'm assuming thats because the water vapor is hitting my smoke damaged breathing... tube.. area... thingy.
I could also be using it a lot less than I think I am.... I feel like I am using it like a fiend tho. I went thru at least 2ml but possibly 3 ml of juice yesterday.
I am refilling using the stock carts and the spring/filler cap method. Only had to open 2 carts so far, one for me, one for her. Modded them both because I wasn't happy with the vapor I was getting with stock carts(edit: and wasn't sure if I was low on juice or what was going on in the filler). Once I did that mod, I was able to start figuring out how to play around with the vapor and see my draws were much bigger.

The juice I'm using is a few flavors from liberty-flights. I got a big bottle of cappuccino PG, a few VG samples, and some otherPG sample sizes. I have an order from JC juices coming this afternoon and I'm pretty stoked about that.

One more quick question about the ego/510. I just kinda realized that the 510 is the same exact thing, just fatter battery. So, I could just buy 2 batts and 2 cones to see if it would be cheaper than a kit... I have read that the cone makes it draw better, so an eGo would draw better than a 510 standard?

If your wife is using atomizer and cartridge, have her try Boge 3 ohm cartomizers on the slim 510 - in general a more consistent vape, more like smoking a cig - you need to keep them damp so they don't singe and I recommend thinner juices for easy filling and good drag. NiteLiteVapor.us has all 3 colors of standard resistance 3 ohm Boge 510 cartomizers the common black, plus white and tan). If she is using auto batteries and wants better hit, try manuals. If she wants longer charge, the Joye mega xl manuals are very nice with 60-70% longer charge (but long at 128mm w/ a carto).

Hello, my first post! I was wondering how long it should take to load my vaper. I have an Ego 650. So is nine hours about normal? I use an USB, is that slower than a wall connection?

Assuming you're speaking of charging the battery, most come precharged. My 1000mAh eGo batts take about 2 hours to charge on a USB.

In my limited experience here, the usb charges at the same rate as the wall charger. I used my usb port, and the wall plug and neither one took more than an hour for the first top off charge. I did not check them sooner than about an hour tho.. ie. i wasn't watching for them to turn green.

edit: your usage of the term loading, just to be sure you know, you need e-juice in a cartridge in order for it to turn the liquid into vapor. When charging, your eGo button should flash a few times, then the charger that is plugged into your computer will turn red, indicating it is charging. and turns green when it is complete.

at that point you will pull the blank cartridge out of the atomizer, screw the atomizer and cone onto the battery. then you insert a pre-filled cartridge into the open end of the atomizer.

The only reason i explained this is because you said "load my vapor" as if you may be assuming it will produce vapor "as-is" when its done charging.
sorry if i sounded condescending as it is not my intent.

Battery life is longer if you recharge them before they're dead. Something I didn't know and learned from the board. Add that to about the 1,000 things I didn't know before I learned it from the board.

That's what is so good about this board. I always thought the opposite was true and I religiously would drain my batteries until they were dead.

Now I know better

The old NICd batteries propetuated that bit of info. The newer Lithium Ion batts the opposite is true.
