Joye 510 Questions

Hello everyone!

I recently pulled the trigger to purchase a Joye 510 mega kit from Electro-Nic-Stix with some juice, a PCC, and a 5 pack of "cartomizers". I have been having a few issues with trying to figure all of this out. I did a lot of lurking here and watched a lot of videos to figure out what I needed to do with the juice, but I think I goofed. The atty and (uhhh filter part) for my Joye 510 leaks a bit when I travel with it. This isn't a HUGE issue, but I would like to know how I can prevent juice from leaking? Did I purchase a knock off? Is this a common problem? Oh, and note that the juice leaks from the stock "usa tobacco" black filter parts, not the cartomizer. I didn't really want to use predominently cartomizers because they aren't easily taken apart for service, if at all.

And one more question... I see that some people post battery life by hours and others by puffs. How often should I technically be taking puffs? I like the throat hit of the 510 over my buddy's "Premium" PV. However he said take a puff during a nicotine fit. I just like to take them whenever. I assume this isn't wise considering nicotine is a highly toxic substance. What does everyone here do for dosing?

I can't answer your questions about the 510 but I'm sure someone here can and will.

As for the dosage.... If you have a high mg juice like 36mg, I wouldn't suggest chain vaping with that since it is such a high dosage. However, you can safely chain vape lower dosages such as 18 mg or lower. It really all depends on how your body reacts to the amount of nicotine you're taking in. Some people can handle a higher dose without feeling ill and others can't. My best advice is if you're not feeling well when you chain vape, try a lower dose. Everyone reacts to nicotine differently so it's a matter of figuring out how much you can handle.

Hey, I just got my 510 Tuesday and love it. I did the pyramid tea bag mod yesterday, and it makes a world of difference, holds more liquid and you can vape till its empty (without have to pull that wadding stuff and turn it around halfway through). Anyway, try it, maybe it'll help the leaking problem for you too.

FireHorse, thank you for the response. I have been on what may be considered a lower dose of 11 MG. The kit came with 5 18MG tobacco flavored cartriges, that are what leaks when connected to the atty. I bough 2 types of juice that have 0MG. Is it fine to chain smoke them? From what I have read it is fine. If so, hoe do I figure out when a refill is needed, and the atty needs replacement?

You'll need to refill often. You don't want the atty to get dry. Just keep an eye on the filler in the cartridge and if it looks a bit dry, add a bit of juice. As you continue to get used to vaping, you'll be able to notice the change in the vapor... how it looks, feels and tastes and that will also tell you when you need to add more juice.

Chain vaping 0mg is no problem and even the 11mg should be fine for chain vaping. Make sure you drink lots of water when vaping!!! Vaping will dehydrate you quickly so you really need to keep up your liquids!

I chain away on 6 to 12mg juice. No problems

If you are using refillable carts, then you are putting in too much juice. Try putting in just enough to where it just gets a little juciy at the cart top. I use blue foam in mine, I push the foam down until it is about 1/4 in below the cart top, fill till I see juice at the top of the cart. Push it down a little more to get out air, pull back up, few more drops, push down, pull up...do until all the air is out, then pull the foam up to the top of the cart. Cart full and ready to go.
One thing I have found out, the carts will get alot of mosture from the air that settles in the mouth piece. When getting ready to refill, blow thru the mouth piece to clear the mosture out. Wipe and then refill.

OldDragon, I am using the carts that I just opened and used. Maybe they were overfilled at the factory... I want to get some filler for the carts to use for nicotine juice, and the cartomizers for nic free juice. I just want to tell them apart.

Division, I have heard about the teabag pyramid method, but want to use the juice that came in the carts in my kit before I try it. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh, and also, I have an atty I have yet to use and a few cartomizers. I read that they need to be "primed". Am I correct in my method by putting a few drops of juic on the atty and not inhaling the vap for 2 hauls. For the cartomizer I just fill it with the "condom" method and take 2 puffs without inhaling. Are these steps actually necessary to "prime" cartomizers and atty's in that manner?

Most Carts will leak some if in your pocket, and if not from the cart it will be from the connection part of the atomizer, that is pretty normal.
