Some people like the tanks.

Personally I recommend a normal Joye 510 mega xl (280mah) MANUAL battery model and then if you want to use tanks you can add a 510-T tank atomizer and 510-T tanks to your equipment. That would let you try vaping every way - cartridges or drip tip on the normal attys, tanks on the tank atty, and cartomizers which don't need an atomizer.

Manuals are totally sealed, safe from being damaged or killed by juice leaks, can't accidentally turn on from wind or vibration, and make it easier to get a good hit.

If you already bought that tank kit that's fine - Joye is a good brand. Just label that charger so you never accidentally charge a normal 510 battery in it - it will destroy a normal 510 battery. If you decide to get some non-tank 510 mega xl manual batteries and charging cable, consider buying a different color so you won't get confused on which goes in which charger. And with auto batteries be extra careful not to get juice leaks onto the threaded end of the battery - if juice gets inside it can damage or kill an auto battery. You could add a normal atty and cartridges to your kit but use of a drip tip is not recommended for auto batteries. And any 510 can use cartomizers - autos just have to avoid juice leaks.

It seemed a little expensive to me. Is that what the 510-T kits normally cost?

I didn't pay for my 510, I won it so I've never really priced them.

I really have to say I don't have a 510 kit per se, I use a 510 T atty/tank on my ego batts and love them:) I use the LR's. Wish the tanks were a little bigger:)

Have you ordered the 510-T yet?

If you have, I'd recommend ordering a box or two of boge SR cartomizers in case you have issues with the tank.

If you have not ordered yet, I'd recommend a regular 510 or Ego with cartomizers. After you've adjusted to vaping, order the tank atomizer and tanks. It's a little involved maintaining and fixing the tanks if you have issues with them.
