I receive my first ecig a month ago. I was happy with it. I purchased it from cignot. I was using the prefill carts and would last for couple hours and top off with 3 or 4 drops and good to go again. But got to where I would fill cart and mybe get one hit and even it was harss and no taste. So I have tried 3 new carts and attys and batt. But still can only get maybe one hit and it seems light it is empty. So I put on drop on atty and get maybe one hit still. The cart is full. I have gone from very happy to ....... What the hell has happened.

Even in the same batch, some stock carts work surprisingly well and some (most) will not. The difference is in how tightly packed the filler is - if it's too tightly packed it won't work well. You want the filler as loosely packed as possible but not so loose that it's going to allow liquid to leak out.

So best thing to do is take the filler out and cut some of it off length-wise, then fluff it out (pull it apart a bit) so that it's about the size it was before you cut it. The best way to get it back in without scrunching it up too much is with some narrow tweezers.

Once you start filling it, you can tell if you got it right if it is able to take drop after drop in rapid succession. If the first drops pool on the top before slowly soaking in, the filler is probably still too tightly packed. The only exception is if you have a really thick liquid made mostly out of VG, then it will soak in a lot slower.

I will give that a try. I am using pg eliquid. I try vg and could not get it to work. So gave up trying vg.

Yeah, to get thick VG liquid to work properly you have to fluff out the filler even more.

The other way to go is to use something other than the stock Polyfill. The blue foam is pretty good, but these days I'm having good success with Fluval. Both are used as aquarium filters, so they are available in pet stores. There's tons of other materials and methods you can read up more on here:
Cartridge Mods - E-Cigarette Forum

P.S. The blue foam is the Marineland brand Size "U"
The Fluval is the kind that says "Water Polishing Pad"

IMO, both are better than polyfill
